It's as if she never even read the article! Woo! Unless you've been in that exact situation it's impossible for any outsider to comprehend the victims feelings in that moment. So she could have just left? Maybe she feared that it would have been even worse for her had she tried to leave, and that Aziz would have gotten even more aggressive and potentially violent. Fuck CNN for airing that garbage
A product of our culture, a generation ahead of mine. It comes across as trying to protect a movement or brand and not the actual victims. Not a good look.
I feel a little bit better about having some concerns over Babe.com as a source and their journalistic scrutiny, and wondering why a woman would report to Babe instead of somewhere more respected. The fact that Way approached Grace instead of the other way around and then promoted the story as an 'exclusive' feels opportunistic, even if intentions were good. Though I believe Grace and understand why she trusted Babe with her story, she deserved better.
Some interesting things in this piece. I had a very similar first reaction as the author the moment I saw the "Exclusive" branding all over it. I've heard in passing through some writer friends that other, large, publications (LA Times, Hollywood Reporter) had heard of this story but wouldn't run it because it didn't pass their editorial scrutiny.
Shared this in this thread earlier today-- probably the most insightful article I've read thus far about it.
The Reaction to the Aziz Ansari Allegations Shows #MeToo Is More Measured Than Its Critics Claim This is good.
the internet is a repulsive place. don't watch if you don't wanna get angry, but this is on top of reddit. shocker!
Saw earlier, fits that type of reaction comic- Side you agree with: Rational, calm, logical speaking, drawn normally and never yelling Side you disagree with: The most insane points, yelling, not making any sense, drawn like a monster Disgusting shit so of course reddit loves it
Babe.net journalist and Ashleigh Banfield exchange barbs over Aziz Ansari story yikes. this is just getting worse. that jezebel article was fantastic.
Netflix Willing to Make 'Master of None' Season 3 if Aziz Ansari Desires, But Unsure About 'Arrested Development' [TCA 2018]
I predicted it before, but if an episode of this show comes out painting him as a victim I am gonna be pissed
He's not going to portray himself as a victim, Netflix know how sensitive this issue is. And even though he acted like a scumbag, I don't think he's an idiot. I definitely want a third season, regardless of how shitty this whole thing has been.
