If Returns is good enough for Batman it's good enough for Mary Poppins, love both leads

I HAD NO IDEA DICK VAN DYKE IS IN THIS. I'm sure it isn't a huge role, but so excited to see that.

    Completely on board.

  12. Looks like classic Disney - I love it! I need to watch the original again, it's been years and years since I've seen it.

Didn’t care for this. It obviously has a great cast and some good visual work. But it has the most typical plot that has no reason of being 2+ hours long.

It glides by on the nostalgia of the original. But the music isn’t memorable and Mary Poppins is surprisingly uninteresting and dull.

  16. That’s unfortunate to hear.

Yeah, early social media reactions are... ok. Bummer to hear the music isn't anything special.
Still, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I'm still hyped to see this. The original is probably my favorite movie of all time. Flaws and all. I embrace it.

I thought Emily Blunt was great but every time she wasn't on the screen was a real where's Poochie situation
a lot of the magic felt forced, like the magic of the experience not Mary's magic and I couldn't help but compare it to Mamma Mia and Paddington which shared some cast members and which were way better and this definitely felt long
    Colin Firth was delightful
I enjoyed it but was also keenly aware that Disney just wants our money

I feel like I haven't seen Emily Mortimer since 30 Rock and it was nice seeing her
I feel like even if someone had described Meryl Streep's character in this to me I wouldn't believe it

I thought it was good not great. Emily Blunt was fabulous, and I enjoyed everything with her and the kids, but the Dad (Michael) was so terrible and unsympathetic, he and the bank plot line dragged the entire movie down a ton. Can’t believe Disney chose this over Solo for their Christmas release.

Cute, enjoyable, but entirely forgettable sequel.
