Loki has never been a character that I care much about, but the freedom this show seems to have, compared to the other two so far, makes this the most entertaining of them.
premiere was really interesting in spots while seeming to hint at better stuff down the road that may or may not happen. so, an mcu project
Tom Hiddleston is one hell of an actor, huh? Him and Owen Wilson together could be in the running for best actor pairing in the MCU so far. Also this ruled. Best first episode from the first three MCU shows so far
Yeah this was fantastic. Definitely on track to be my favorite of the three MCU shows if it keeps going this strong. Surprisingly emotional for a first episode and I really appreciated how they’re already deconstructing Loki’s character in an interesting way. Owen Wilson was fantastic too.
lol that was baffling what was the bet? that a god couldn’t steal money and jump out of a plane?? what?!
The vibe of this is very “Legion but less good”. Hadn’t really read anything about it before watching so that was a bit weird. It was a fairly fine episode.
I was joking with the "Owen Wilson is Mephisto" shit. However... if they do go the route of the TVA being corrupt or a front for some major MCU villain like a lot of theories are saying, imo there's a few major routes they could take with Mobius specifically. The two most obvious being: 1) Mobius defects from the TVA once Loki helps him realize the truth about what they're up to, or 2) Mobius is in on it himself, and possibly even the big bad himself, manipulating Loki to help the TVA in whatever they're really up to. The only real evidence I have for the second possibility is this: I think Mobius wasn't intending to show Loki his full redemptive arc from the "main timeline". That stood out to me right away after watching... Mobius stops the footage right when Hela dies because of Loki, and uses it to prove a point about how Loki is destined to cause destruction and death... intentionally stopping before Loki gets to see the positive changes in his character that stemmed from that event. Loki only sees the rest because he breaks back in later. Personally... I think he was trying to manipulate Loki by making it seem like helping the TVA was his ONLY possible path to redemption. Am I reading too much into a show that just started? Probably, but that's part of the fun.
i feel like any time "am i reading too much into ____" for these three shows has been asked, the answer has ended up being a resounding yes
Assume everything is what it is on the surface level, and let the show surprise you if and when it isn't.
