What groundbreaking, dramatic acting did Hopkins do in the MCU specifically though? Obviously he's an incredible actor, but he wasn't given much to work with in the MCU. Hiddleston definitely has shown better acting in these movies/show. I think I agree with you about RDJ though
ngl while watching this ep I though X-5/Brad was a completely new character but its the same dude from episode 1 with a different haircut and shaved face
Honestly for like half the episode I felt like they accidentally uploaded episode 3 and I was missing a whole episode of information.
I had the same confusion lol. Even when they started calling him X-5, it still took me a minute to realize I was supposed to recognize him
phrasing it as "best actor in the mcu" is what got me. sure, hiddleston's part is one of the best parts.
the design, direction, music, acting etc. of this show are so great that it doesn't bother me too much that the plot is an absolute clusterfuck. like I really actively have no idea what's going on at this point. it definitely feels like at least one episode worth of plot was completely skipped
Show is fun but yeah the plot is just “oh no all this shit we are constantly making up is going to happen or not happen and it’s not good!”
I don’t think it’s that confusing beyond placing x-5. Once that happens, it makes sense. Loki and the TVA believe they are the only thing that can protect the timelines. Not doing a good job so far though. Through time slipping Loki saw the (potential) fall of the TVA. He knows Sylvie is involved somehow. As well, O.B, is trying to keep the timelines from exploding or whatever. That’s the main gist so far. The one lady bombed timelines. She is bad. Some TVA members seem to want to live their life on the sacred timeline.
you just said yourself three posts ago you didn't realise we were meant to recognise X5 as Brad, you don't think that's a failure of clarity in the plot? they're burning through story so fast my housemate was out of the room for 2 minutes and she nearly missed the whole plot point about the general bombing the other timelines. the breakneck pace combined with all the sciency technobabble they're having OB say is genuinely ridiculous to try and follow
I don't think that's a failure of the plot, I think that's a failure of me not watching the show for over a year haha my memory is terrible
Oh ok lmao nevermind then. I'm just used to having ADHD so I never expect myself to have the greatest attention to detail ahaha
It’s not necessarily hard to follow as much as they just make up some new jargon every episode that you then have to follow along with.
Everything Everywhere All At Once is one of my favorite movies so I'm used to Ke Huy Quan spouting nonsense at a fast pace haha
