I am starting to become more and more confident that Evans, Downey, and Hemsworth aren't going away after Infinity War. I think they are going to sign new contracts.
omgomgomgomgomg A new rumor posits that Marvel is planning on bringing Blade, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider to the small-screen in their very own Netflix series. According to MovieCreedLive, sources have revealed to them that "...Blade, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight are lined-up to join Netflix," after the first wave of Marvel-Netflix series wraps up. If the rumor's true, that would mean Blade is making his return to television for the first time since the Sticky Fingaz-led SPIKE series from the mid-'00s, while Ghost Rider and Moon Knight would be making their live-action TV debuts.
Marvel Studios Confirms Stellar New Cast Members of the Highly Anticipated 'Thor: Ragnarok' | News | Marvel.com
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "Highly Anticipated". Personally, Thor 1 and 2 were the weakest of the solo Avengers films (not to say they're horrible, just meh). I'm most excited for Hulk being in it if anything. Either way, I'll watch it.
Best case scenario they keep her a secret for the post credits scene and show her picking up Mjolnir or something like that.
Not to be a debbie downer, but I just don't see them going that route. At least not with Natalie Portman.
Damn. Love those additions! Honestly, I cannot decide which Marvel film I'm excited for the most in 2017. They've really stepped it up in adding top-notch actors to their films.
I keep wondering if they'll ever even mention Betty Ross again. Like, does she even exist anymore? They finally brought General Ross back with the same actor so she has to be out there somewhere...right?
I'd prefer Whedon steer clear of Marvel films at this point to be honest. I know a lot of people like them, but I wasn't really a fan of either Avengers films.
I feel like a lot of people look back at both Avengers movies as kind of a package as far as Joss at Marvel goes, and the lukewarm reception Age of Ultron got has unfairly colored the way people see the original Avengers. I know it seems to me like the original isn't as impressive anymore. But at the time he pulled off the impossible, and that shouldn't be forgotten. I appreciate what Whedon has done for Marvel. I think if he scaled back to a solo character he could do wonders still.
I just generally worry about directors I like going to the MCU because as a whole I'm not on-board with how they operate on a storytelling level. The movies are fun, but I don't really want to see talented filmmakers working inside the Marvel lines. Joss Whedon knocked it out of the park with the first Avengers, and put in an ambitious second entry that the studio pushed and pulled with him on to negative effect overall. Same with Shane Black on Iron Man 3, and apparently Ava DuVernay and Edgar Wright. Apparently Disney is a contributing factor to that. While I enjoyed Civil War and look forward to Black Panther and respect the unprecedented achievement the MCU is, I can't help but kind of shrug my shoulders at whatever the rest of what they're going for is because it's all starting to blur together and I think we're getting a little bit of diminishing returns in the superhero genre as a whole. What was the last truly exciting superhero movie that felt fresh and stood alone as a great piece of cinema? The Avengers? That being said I'll see anything Ryan Coogler does, anything Chadwick Boseman does, and anything Michael B. Jordan does, so that they're all in a movie together is definitely interesting. I'm not writing off future Marvel entries, and I hope they'll all be great, but I'm just overall a little concerned for the genre as a whole.
I get what everyone is saying here, but I have to be clear in that I didn't like The Avengers right out of the gate. My perception wasn't marred by Age of Ultron, I just didn't like it from the beginning. I was excited by the prospect of Whedon being in charge of the Avengers because I loved Buffy, Angel and Firefly and I knew he had respect for the source material. Then I sat down in the theater and within the first few minutes of that odd opening scene I was disappointed. I simply don't think he's the right fit.
I'd prefer Joss stay clear from any future MCU films. The Avengers was good, but AOU...not so much. He also made me dislike Black Widow until Civil War. So nah
