No release for Blade and F4 leads me to think they may be phase 5 or will be featured more at D23. Eternals, Shang-Chi, Strange with Wanda, Thor with Portman and Ali as Blade is more than enough for now. It’s insane.
Which is the other one that'll be in the past? I was assuming Black Window is, but is another one as well? Not sure how Thor 4 in the past would work as Jane/Valkyrie's timelines don't line up. Maybe it'll just be light on Hemsworth? Let Natalie and Tessa lead.
This really is nuts. I didn't think anything would come close to the Natalie Portman as female Thor as far as surprise and excitement goes... ...and they bust out the news that Mahershala Ali is in as Blade!!!
I'm really glad we're getting Eternals & Shang-Chi before any post-Endgame sequels. Other than this Black Widow spinoff prequel (& I guess technically Far From Home), those new properties get to be people's reintroductions to the MCU. Should help amplify the spotlight on those new properties while also giving the established players a long, welcome rest (two years!) before coming back swinging.
Also, I'm really excited for Blade, though Jane Foster Thor & knowing F4 is officially in development both excite me way more, tbh.
I'm excited about pretty much all of the upcoming Marvel content. While I still fully expect things to be connected, I think they're taking some more chances and I want to see how it plays out. Also planning to read Eternals and Shang-Chi comics since I know very little about those.
Guardians, both movies are set in the past of the MCU storyline with the IW and Endgame being the first time they’re shown in the current day.
incredibly underwhelmed by the phase. thor is the only movie remotely exciting. that being said, phase 1 and 2 weren’t great either. i just want some confirmation of x-men and f4
So you're thinking Thor shows up and then they time jump back to show what he did with them? Seems... odd... but I donno. I trust the people running this to figure it out
What I meant is that GOTG 3 will probably take place before Thor 4 and probably explain why Thor left them, following how the previous two were. That’s my guess anyway.
If you had told me back in the early days of the MCU that Thor would be the only main Avenger left alive and getting his own movie twelve years later I would’ve laughed in your face.
Yeah that’s a wild take this Phase is hype af. So much diversity and so many exciting storylines and characters and actors. I’m honestly more excited for this Phase than I have been for any others.
