Movie illiterate Kevin Feige overseeing a Marvel Studios in the state that it’s currently in and talking about plans through 2042 is absurd to me. “We will churn out product with ever diminishing returns until morale improves.” Idk, maybe they’ll get back to an average level of “decent if you like cape shit” (which I do, for better or worse) after these dumb Avengers movies are behind them.
They couldn't even get Blade made with Ali, not gonna hold my breath lol RDJ is just gonna play every villain for the next 16 years
It's a franchise about superheroes beating up supervillains that people grew up with brought to life. Everything is a key to jangle.
Kevin on the X-Men universe within the MCU "Acquiring the X-Men rights isn't just about... for example, Wolverine is an outstanding character, and we were able to team him up with Deadpool, which is great. But the X-Men are far more than just Wolverine, far more than the original team; fundamentally, it's a universe, a multi-stage saga. Much of that is what we're working towards." "We’re constantly changing, constantly evolving, but having some guidance helps us act more purposefully, especially with X-Men—it’s already had 10 movies, some very, very good, some I think haven’t lived up to expectations—how do we plan the 'mutant saga' in a very grand way? "That being said, we have many more characters to explore in the future. The X-Men have many unexplored characters from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China, which we're very eager to explore. That's why I'm excited about the X-Men: we can show the world different types of heroes."
The “particularly China” comment is interesting. Outside of Jubille, I don’t think there are any big Chinese mutants that would warrant a large presence. The recent Shang-Chi run revealed that his half-sister (Sister Staff) is a mutant. Makes me wonder if they have plans for the Ten Rings/Xialing & Shang-Chi to be involved with that side of the MCU.
