Weird, even though it was an open end it felt very final

I’m assuming visual development is like storyboarding and stuff?

So it basically sounds like we’re about to head to a very disjointed visual style across their movies if they’re contracting out for each project

Maybe, maybe not. I interpreted it as some people went from full-time to contracts, which is still shitty and not great but at least does seem to imply they'll still be using them, just not in a permanent capacity.

Word is it's because of the reduced slate.

Actually, thinking about it more, I probably didn't interpret that correctly. It's late and I'm tired.

I talked to someone who works in one of the branches of Disney that’s being consolidated into the one main marketing tower and it sounds like they may be hiring/re-hiring people as contract workers for projects instead of as full-time employees. And there’s some legal requirement that contract workers who are with a company for more than 12 months get certain rights so Disney may do what they’ve done in the past, which is hire people under contract for a year then wait a year to rehire them so they don’t incur employee rights. So, it’s a much shittier situation for workers than a simple designation change. Shitty ass company.
