Reminder that the block button allows you to have every thread to yourself if you’d like (blocking is healthy and good and people should do it more :) )
I get why Doomsday can be the final ticket for people. A handful of recent MCU films have been lackluster and Doomsday/Secret Wars is Marvel’s big moment to prove that they still “have it.” Doomsday also be the first actual crossover film in 8 years. If it’s a disappointment that’s…not good If it doesn’t deliver why should people invest themselves in the franchise? It’s a lot to keep up with if it’s no longer enjoyable
Hot take, blocking is boring because you lose out on watching people be insufferable. If you're having a bad day seeing someone's stupidity is sure to turn that frown upside down! Remember all because you see someone post, you don't *have* to reply back to them.
Watching Daredevil Born Again because it's on hulu now and I think they should make a Kingpin show. D'onofrio is so fucking good
I wonder if they’ll find a way to turn the heat back down enough for the character that he can act again and keep the show’s behind the scenes in Hollywood genre or if they’ll keep moving forward and it’ll be a more conventional super hero show.
I feel like it might straddle both worlds, but maybe in a lower stakes kind of way? They indicated DODC has plans for him and frankly, breaking out a known terrorist is a little hard to put back in the bottle. But I would like to see how him revealing his powers affects his career for better and worse. Do people start casting him only based on his power set? Or worse, is there backlash that a superhero got the Wonder Man role?
This is the way to go. Keep the shows focused on small-scale/street-level stuff. DDC continues to be the best grab Marvel has made post-Endgame
I was looking into that special (which I forgot was a thing) yesterday, and I was shocked to learn that it’s directed by the guy who made Bob Marley: One Love. Anyway, no Punisher adaptation will ever be as cool as Lexi Alexander’s War Zone, but since this will only be an hour long… maybe I’ll try to access a family member’s Disney+ account to check it out sometime.
To my understanding, both of them were made with 2 seasons already approved. Wonder is the first actually renewed for a second.
It is wild to think that Wonder Man got a second season over others, but on the other hand, previous shows weren't actually made with seasonal TV in mind and they're expensive to make, where Wonder Man was not. It will be interesting to see if once this Saga is over if other previous series get a fresh look to make them more cost effective to continue.
