I’m pretty sure they are. But before they do, they’re gonna have a multiversal “epic” with actors from those other franchises. Don’t think that’s the wisest strategy, lol. But, seeing those two guys together again is the closest they’ve gotten to making me care about Doomsday, so, idk.
That seems even more confusing! Haha, but I haven't understood their strategy in a while now. At least X-Men '89 was good.
Kinda makes sense with how secret wars went in the comics though, right? Ultimately, only one universe stands and pretty much everyone got erased other than Miles, his dad, and The Maker, right? Maybe I'm forgetting a few. So one last hurrah for this universe makes sense to me
They did this kinda thing with No Way Home and Deadpool 3, and those were two of their most recent box office successes, so I’m sure it’ll go fine for them in the short term. But, if I’m right, I’m not sure how it helps them sell the rebooted X-Men supposedly coming soon after Secret Wars! One of the 3-4 most popular theories about Sadie Sink’s character in the next Spider-Man movie is a major X-Men character, so maybe they’re hoping that helps pass the torch or whatever.
It would also be funny if they said fuck it and merged earths afterwards and kept these actors, lol. There’s a version of that which I’d personally enjoy. But, starting fresh would leave more story avenues open for future films.
Any chance McAvoy and Fassbender are involved too? I was somewhat surprised at how much I enjoyed their takes on the characters after thinking I'd be a "No one is Stewart or McKellen" type person haha
Finally got around to watching F4. Absolutely loved how the movie looked. Also absolutely baffled how you waste Ben, Reed and Galactus to that degree.
Thought Galactus was fine but yeah Ben and Reed could have had more to do. Very solid MCU movie regardless post-Endgame.
Galactus looked awesome and I get it plot-wise but that fight just felt so empty or something. Loved the vibe of the movie and I'd still give it a solid overall
Reed had his face pulled in the end credits and I was like that alone was more interesting than anything he did in the whole movie lol
I can forgive weak CGI if it’s in service of aesthetic choices I can enjoy, for a movie that’s enjoyable enough in the right ways (story and/or cast, etc). I’m trying to remember who my favorite characters were in that thing, and I think maybe Moleman was my #2? Idk, it was kind of a nothing movie with occasional cool moments that’s slipping ever further out of my brain.
