i don't think i can watch all of the mcu again, or even all of post-endgame again, and it's not even because i think some if it's bad, that's just such a big time commitment when i could be watching things i haven't seen yet, or, idk... replaying a game i've already beaten and putting another 30hrs into it...
This is the one thing stopping me. I didn't mind rewatching the stuff I have been because it's been years since I've seen the Netflix stuff or Cloak & Dagger/Runaways and it's new to my mom so I've enjoyed getting her reactions and post-episode takeaways. But if I do a rewatch of the current saga, it'll probably be on my own time and I just have a lot of other things I want to do.
The shows have made a full rewatch so much longer and I just don’t think I’d ever do it. Last one I did was leading up to Endgame.
I really think that the shift from Kang to Doom caused some massive changes to the direction of Young Avengers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel isn’t quite sure where to put the team.
Can't imagine why it would matter, Kang matters as much to the Young Avengers as Doom, which is "not at all". Where is this coming from?
Due to Kang being a Young Avengers villain in the source material, I was under the impression that Marvel introduced the Young Avengers with Kang as their purpose. With Waldron’s comment, it seems like that might have been the case. With Kang gone, the original vision for the YA seems to have shifted, and they now have to be placed into another narrative. The Ten Rings seem to have had the same problem, but it looks like they’ll be retconned to have a connection with Doom. Maybe YA will as well, but it’s a lot harder to readjust an entire team than it is a MacGuffin.
Kang is not a "Young Avengers villain" though, he's an Avengers villain, full stop. And it's not like the MCU has been 100% beholden to the comics anyway. I think you're making a lot of assumptions off of one line. My take was that this was just one Kang that the YA specifically faced out of many everyone would be facing. I didn't get any vibe that the YA would be front and center. I mean, just replace it with a Doombot.
Kang was the first villain the Young Avengers faced, and Marvel introduced the Young Avengers at the same time they were building up Kang. It’s pretty clear what they originally intended for the YA. I’m not saying the YA were meant to be front and center, but it seems like the purpose of introducing their members was to have them eventually form and fight Kang, just like in the comics. That direction is now gone, so the team’s formation has to be readjusted.
I'm just saying Kang is a long running Avengers villain and while I agree the Young Avengers were being built for something, there's no evidence to indicate it was specifically for that film, just as there's no evidence to indicate that anything has changed course. You're making a lot of assumptions on very little data.
Let’s be real, most of this server is old as fuck (as evidenced by how many posts are simply gifs, references, and baseball players’ names).
Doomsday trailer rough cut description about Doomsday, they saw rough cut, it's not completely finished. person was surprised of how much footage of Doom in action was, it's not a teaser trailer. RDJ's Doom was described as classic universal monster (compared to Eric from The Phantom of The Opera), he is a tragic, broken figure. Doom needs armor, because his body is fully broken. kinda like Darth Vader. it will be with Avatar 3
