I think ppl are generally over critical towards superhero movies. The ones that stand out as good can be really good but that's not supposed to be the expectation 100% of the time. (I've avoided most of the Sony-verse tho)
I don’t want to get into the weeds but I think we should have higher expectations for movies with gigantic budgets made my the biggest studios in the world lol
idk I have higher expectations for stuff from like A24 and Neon. Big studio execs just get in the way
Like doesn't Disney keep Pixar from doing queer stuff? It's a miracle we get any representation from any big studio
I don't disagree, but it gets out of hand sometimes, I feel. Like, not every film can or should have a larger message, sometimes it's enough to just be an escape from our shitty reality.
That’s not really what I’m trying to say. Just that it should be better than like a 3/5 which is what I’ve vaguely been seeing for Fantastic Four lol
See what I mean. Like I know what I’m getting with an MCU movie, which is *fine*, I’m pretty much always gonna show up. But sheesh
Not what I've been seeing, but really doesn't matter anyway. I'm having a good time, which is what I paid for. I hope you have a good time too. Eh. For me Echo is the lesser although I am absolutely not fond of the culling of Fury's supporting cast.
Spawn. Batman & Robin. Just off the top of my head. Suicide Squad (the first one) was pretty terrible except for Harley's speech and El Diablo.
The worst I can say for any MCU film is that they're flawed, with missed opportunities, but I still find things to enjoy about them. Black Widow, dislike Taskmaster, but liked the family dynamics. Thor 2, dislike shortchanging Eccleston and the thin plot, but liked Loki and everything surrounding him. BNW is probably my least favorite now and even then, I liked Leader and Ross, I just think the movie was made for Hulk and shortchanged Sam. I guess I don't consider one undercooked part a reason to write the whole movie off.
FF is a classic 3.5/5 movie and it’s a top 5-7 MCU movie lol. the worst of these movies are some of the worst of all time.
I don't know what this means, you're saying you'd rank it in the top 10 MCU movies but still only grade it 3.5 out of 5?
