Hey Sony, I’m still available if you wanna hire someone in a Kevin Feige/James Gunn type role. I’m real cheap and probably don’t know filmmaking much less than Feige does, and I’ll come up with a strategy that’ll turn things around for you!
Finished She-Hulk, which I think got better as the show went on. Really enjoyed the Daredevil episode and I love that they adapted Frog-Man of all characters. Maybe it's me getting used to it, but I feel like the visuals improved in the back half as well. The plot twist in the last episode felt true to the character and was a fun nod to the comics, but like with Deadpool, self-awareness is less cute when no lessons are clearly learned from it. Shame Feige declined to voice K.E.V.I.N. The one last nagging criticism I have is that we never really seem to learn why Titania attacked the courthouse in the first episode to begin with.
Okay, never mind on that last note, apparently in episode 2 there was some news crawl that explained what happened and I just missed it. Seems like an important detail to not just say out loud, but oh well.
One more thought. The comments from the Intelligencia were uncomfortably reminiscent of actual comments I've seen around the internet from disgusting ghouls, and the lines about the people creepily devoted to Feige were especially funny considering our recent discussions about his inflated importance.
I'm not going to debate the CGI because mileage always varies. I personally only felt uncanny valley at certain moments but it did not hinder my enjoyment of the show. Skaar just showing up at the end felt like a joke considering the comments made previously in the episode, so I don't really think much of it. Other than that, what struck you as lazy? I suppose the twist landing won't happen for everyone but I thought it was a funny and unique way to resolve the season. I mean, we could have had a normal big brawl, that's what they originally were going to do, but I thought this was interesting and She-Hulk's argument in episode for why to do it felt compelling.
Ironheart is a pretty standard forgettable MCU Disney+ show so far. It is cool that they introduced Ezekiel Stane as a surprise. I didn't think we'd get that character in the MCU until Armor Wars.
Started Ironheart tonight with the intent of watching episode 2 tomorrow and 3 on Tuesday, just in time for the second drop.
I finally started and caught up with Ironheart tonight. I’m into it so far. Definitely an upper-tier Disney+ Marvel show.
I planned to watch episodes 2 and 3, but spent the morning chatting with Disney+ to figure out why the app suddenly doesn’t work on my TV Physical media - 1 Streaming - 0
Saw episode 1 of Ironheart. It was OK! Reminds me a bit of the young adult/less stakes-y tone of Ms. Marvel.
Guys, we are all just hours away from peak Mephisto. Do we think it's just for a scene? Fuck, maybe even just a flashback. That'd be hilarious.
I'm liking it so far but the fact that that's Hamilton's dead son is distracting. (I'm kidding. But there's actually some discourse about Ramos' "controversial" personal life, if you're chronically online)
