Three episodes deep into Echo as of yesterday and my overall feeling so far is that it's fine. My thoughts are that after watching twelve different seasons of 10-13 episodes, a 5 episode show feels like barely enough time to get traction with any of the characters or care about them in any way, especially since the episodes don't run as long on average as the Netflix episodes do.
Dunno if it's been talked about yet, but saw a new casting rumor of Sadie Sink playing Mayday Parker (Tobey Maguire's daughter) I wouldn't be mad at that
Finished Echo and the last two episodes were a little better, but mostly my feeling is like this: I know people tend to criticize the Disney+ shows as feeling more like long movies and not like TV, but this is the first time I actually felt it. Mostly because with only five episodes, there was no room for subplots or exploring anything with Maya's family. It was just beat, beat, beat, beat, conclusion. Like, it was really like a film was chopped up into pieces for consumption. They should've had Maya try to take out a loan!
Just finally finished the new animated spiderman show. wow they opened a lot of threads in that last episode. Art style / animation left a lot to be desired in comparison to the xmen show. Imo
Yeah I wasn't a big fan of the art style but it was much better than I expected and can't wait for the next season
Good. Means the Star Wars movie won’t be moved, I’d assume. Been too long without theatrical Star Wars. I can wait for the next MCU.
I like the delay because it means the start of phase 7 (and the universe reset?) will be in 2028 instead of mid-2027, kicking off the 20th anniversary of the MCU
It really depends how much or little SM4 plays with Doomsday, if it does at all. We don’t know. If anything, I wish they gave SM the May date.
This leaves SDCC up in the air. Do they do the Doomsday panel this year? Postpone it to next year? I’m sure there are scheduled announcements that certainly won’t remain secret until July 2026.
