No, but Sacha Baron Cohen is in the show and has long been rumored to be playing the role, plus Mephisto plays a heavy role in the Hood's origin and Mephisto was recently namedropped on Agatha, so the timing makes sense.

 

Mephisto is kind of a boring villain

 

Well, you’ve never seen him performed by a dead-faced, completely-still Cohen focusing all his available effort and energy into an outrageous voice/accent.

 

I mean, he's literally the devil. What do you want from him?

Also, his date with Magma was hilariously adorable.

 

The only cool Mephisto story is when Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr took Daredevil to Hell.

The only fun things Mephisto has done outside of that is date Magma from the New Mutants, and be Thanos’ wingman as he tries (and fails) to impress Death herself.

I don’t think audiences really want Mephisto, he’s just become a meme because of how many times he’s been rumored. He’ll probably be fun for the few minutes he’s in this (if that’s true), but I don’t see a major future for him in the MCU.

I don't think he was ever seriously rumored for anything but WandaVision.

 

The rumor I heard is The Hood and Mephisto will play a big role in whatever the next Dr. Strange project is.

Given that this show was filmed 3 years ago, I think any speculation about it connecting to Strange 3 is merely a hopeful guess. I’d be surprised if the story of Strange 3 is even locked. It’s at least 2 years away.
