So I was going to write up a big post talking about loose ends in this saga, and besides just getting bored with typing it all out, I also reached a conclusion. I think the big issue with this Multiverse Saga is that the majority of films are not about the multiverse at all. With the Infinity Saga, sure, not every film was about the stones, but most of them were, and the ones that weren't pushed things further into place, but the stones were a MacGuffin that made following the journey easier. Here, there is no MacGuffin, there are just storylines that either feel like they matter or they don't. We have Wanda's whole saga with Agatha and the kids, we've got the formation of the New Avengers, what will probably be the Mighty Avengers, and the Young Avengers/Champions, and then we've in the background got some multiversal shenanigans, of which Loki's are the most prominent. Anyway, in trying to type shit out, I came to the realization that a lot of these dangling post-credits scenes can very easily be breadcrumbs for Doomsday. Strange investigating an incursion, Shang-Chi meeting with Bruce and Carol, it's not difficult to tie all that in. But then you've got Eternals, which introduced a ton of stuff that you'd think would be important, like the whole judging of humanity bit, but it's just left dangling. Or Moon Knight, which is completely disconnected from the larger MCU and it's hard to see that changing without a lot of work. And it's these little aberrations that make everything seem so disconnected. It's hard to tell what's actually relevant to the overall plotline and what's just a side story or world building, and actually that's hilariously in line with comics, now that I think about it. I feel like that's a problem the comics have, bloat and the need to tie every plotline into a big event whether it makes sense or not.
The way Reddit has been discussing this, the consensus seems to be that big characters will still make cameo appearances, just not be the stars, as a way to help separate the films from the shows. And I honestly think that's probably the right move. I know people clamored for the shows and films to crossover in the Infinity Saga, and now that we've got it in this Saga, the result is... not great. It's gotten too big for the average person to follow accurately, it's created a lot more work for them, and it's not resulting in better storytelling. I think the smarter move is to have the shows spotlight characters who will never get a movie, and leave the big names for the big projects.
Actors from the films are also too expensive for Disney+ Jeremy Renner reportedly declined to appear in Hawkeye Season 2 because Marvel offered less than he was asking.
Haven't seen her in anything yet but she's gonna be in The Life of Chuck so that's cool Oh, she was in Turning Red, as "additional voices." Weird, I don't remember a character by that name
This is the first I’ve heard of her. If Marvel is indeed narrowing down the role this early, I’m assuming Jubilee will have a fairly large role. Long overdue.
