Well BP3 is far enough along that Coogler knows he wants Denzel as the villain. So maybe they already had a story idea and they thought it would work out somehow. It's just the only confirmed title we know we're getting that makes sense to try and fit in there and just happens to have ties to a February date as well. I don't think it costs them anything to set a placenolder date, so having the date out there and never needing it is better than having a movie ready to roll with no date carved out to scare away competitors. But now that I think about, Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3, and Thor 5 could've also been intended to hit by he end of the saga. They are also titles we know they wanted to happen.
Both Raimi and Coogler are manageable if DS3/BP3 are the next on the to-do list. I don’t think Coogler has immediate plans after his press tour for Sinners, and Raimi just finished filming his latest project. Nothing has been said about a writer or director for Thor 5, so this would be the biggest surprise for me. DDC won’t be finished with Spider-Man until the fall, if he crunches it he could start production on Shang-Chi 2 for an early 2027 release, but it would probably be best for a bit of a breather, imo.
Chris Claremont just possibly spoiled some moments of Secret Wars while speaking at Huntsville Pop Culture Expo RDJ is playing Doom, Iron Man, and 2 other characters Evans is playing young Captain America and Captain Hydra Olsen is returning as a good Scarlet Witch Psylocke will be in the film and is “no longer Asian, but will have the same outfit” Famke is returning as Phoenix and it took her 2 weeks longer to sign Wolverine will kill an important character His general takeaway is this should have this be the X-Men film that is scheduled 3 years from now. They’re all more interesting than the Avengers
The consensus on the spoiler reddit seems to be one of extreme doubt because why would he even be in a position to know?
Chris Claremont kinda just says shit, lol. He’s a charmingly bitchy & opinionated old man who loves to ramble, who once had a pretty bad stroke and was a fascinating character long before that. He once at a panel talked about a story he wanted to tell where the Brood Queen goes to heaven. He’s a big enough deal to the company that he would probably know things, but also. The movie probably isn’t far enough along for him to know that much? Bet it’s a blend of fanfic and actual intel.
It was most definitely for the former reason, but most likely not the latter. She might've been the lead, but he'd still probably make more even in a more limited role. So the problem is probably that he wanted more money than they were willing to give him for a supporting role.
Well, the final scene of s1 was him suggesting a new name for Kate. Pretty obvious what name he was suggesting. They could do s2 without him.
True, and I'd expect that whatever they did with him it wouldn't be a two-hander like the first season, but they've got good chemistry and it would be cool to see him in it in some capacity.
Thunderbolts is good. a return to form for ppl who didn't think DP3 was a return to form. i honestly think ppl overexaggerate how "bad" the MCU has been post-Endgame. there's been at least one very good (or at the very least, very entertaining) movie every year and even the not-as-good ones aren't that bad. but yeah, Thunderbolts is good.
Been rewatching Punisher Season 2, and may I say once again how much Jon Bernthal elevates Punisher as a character with how quickly and effortlessly he can switch from a well-adjusted, caring, "easy to get along with" individual to his full on "kill everyone in the room without even blinking" mode. Like his charisma is his real weapon.
He's so good in everything he does. He's one actor that I'll definitely check out no matter the project.
