I just feel like pointing people to the best threads would lend itself to cleaner, more organic conversation, instead of the weird diluted and/or cross-pollinated posting that happens sometimes. Like, if people are in the same place, there can be better conversation, right?
But the people don’t go to the same places. The Doomsday thread doesn’t get as much traction as this thread. It’s an extra post, just scroll by it.
I would perhaps argue that diluting the conversation by splitting it across threads is part of why that’s the case. And also argue that the average person who wants to talk about Doomsday or F4 won’t be offended if they post here & someone respectfully is like, “hey, we have a conversation about that happening over here! Come join in!” Also. As negative as I’ve been about Marvel in recent years, I think my posts today show that I do still like talking about them, lol. I’m not trying to shut people down; I just wish, for example, I didn’t have to bounce between two thread at the same time for 2 versions of the same Thunderbolts* chatter. (There’s also an element of not wanting to clutter this forum for people who want to talk about non-Marvel things, lol. But, that’s a bit less egregious when it’s just two threads.)
Look, I just posted some MCU news in the MCU thread. No one is making anyone have two separate conversations. And I see what you're saying, I just think you're making a big deal out of nothing. It didn't bother me seeing the FF trailer posted in here after it was posted in the FF thread because it applies to both threads. But I'll no longer share in multiple threads since it's that much of a problem.
The "everyone is expendable" riff is not the selling point Mackie thinks it is when they can clearly kill off/replace people with versions from other universes.
Yeah they pretty much already did “everyone is expendable” with Thanos and the snap. Hopefully they do something different with Doom instead of a copycat body count
Tbf some actors are expendable because they are getting replaced with younger actors once the soft reboot happens lol
Why are we assuming we know what the soft reboot means at all? No one ever said there would be recasts yet. Weird to frame it as fact.
I didn’t mean “expendable” in a disrespectful way toward some of the OGs. Just that some of these actors won’t return after Secret Wars, so their variants are more likely to take a final bow.
I just don’t see 1) McKellen coming back for another 6 - 8 years 2) Marvel not introducing Magneto over the next 6 - 8 years A recast has to happen
