I haven’t seen them since they came out. I don’t even remember Punisher sex scenes. I’m also not entirely sure I watched the second season.
The wild one is going to be where Rawlins beats the shit out of Frank while Frank daydreams about having sex with his wife in a giant interplay of sex and violence. Which I actually do get the artistic concept of, but still.
See, I remembered that because it was funny, and made sense. And I did kind of remember Luke and Misty, but I forgot about how long the scenes went for. Gotta pad out the episode, I guess.
I think it’s just a tough spot to be in if you lean towards more prudish about certain stuff. I used to be really Christian as a younger teenager and I remember how much it sucked to be really affected by stuff and then see other people have zero issue or concern or negative reaction to it. On the other side now and having no real negative reaction to seeing sex or profanity in shows, I see all levels on the spectrum of prudishness and I empathize with people who have those reactions but I can’t give them genuine affirmation because it really doesn’t bother me in any way. I had a co-worker talk about how much nudity Anora had and how graphic or intense other Oscar nominated films are and how hard it is to recommend them to family even through they are good films. I nodded but in my head I thought “I haven’t seen a single one of the nominated movies but this actually makes them sound much cooler and more interesting.” Lol. But I can imagine my co-worker might feel judged or sensitive if I said that.
Lemme just reiterate that I'm ace... I don't mind nudity and sex scenes. But I have a hard time watching realistic depictions of sexual assault. I have a love-hate relationship with rape-revenge films, love the revenge stuff, hate the rape. To bring it back to marvel, I can't remember any of the Netflix stuff being nonconsensual. Except maybe the purple man, but if any of what he did to Jessica was sexual in nature it was only inferred and never shown
Ok I watched new daredevil. I think my only ....not "complaint" but more of an observation is it looks like every other MCU show? Really well produced, fancy lighting.....where the Netflix show you could tell they had a budget, it was darker (light wise) it wasnt as fancy. Maybe it's because we didn't have the MCU TV shows to compare to, but the Netflix shows to me at least looked "different". Netflix shows overall don't look produced like Disney does theirs. Even watching a Netflix show recap the show is shot in different lighting and it's super obvious. It's not jarring, but just something I noticed. With that said I enjoyed both episodes and can't wait until we see big daddy Frank Castle show up. The intro is super neat too I love how it's a throwback to the OG show.
Re: Pugh She has been in an A24 film. I think it’s fair and acceptable for her to make whatever comparisons she wants between her Marvel and A24 experiences. It sounds like a set comparison, not a quality comparison. None of us have to turn into dorks and correct her on that lol
I completely disagree that it looks like every MCU show. I feel like the camera was a bit grainy and had more of a focus on dramatic lighting and dark colors
