Perhaps the Russos and McFeely want to keep an idea from the Kang Dynasty. While they discarded the script as a whole, Doomsday could still be using some moments that work better if some variant of Kang is around. They were able to use Red Skull in a fun (and somewhat unexpected) role.
If they recast the character, they just need to do something good and fun with the character and no one will care. There is nothing iconic or beloved about the actor or character in the MCU, IMO,
if they had something iconic for the character they should have done it in the first place. it got lost in the shuffle with all the terrible stuff surrounding majors’ case how awful his performance and the characterization were in ant man and s2 of loki
That's what was being set up though supposedly. It's not their fault he fucked up their plans. Kang Dynasty was supposed to be his movie. But they could work him back in as Beyonder and it be another side to fight that Doom also has to deal with. A recast isn't that big of a deal. Hulk and Rhodey were both recast and no one cares. You don't really need a multiverse excuse when they've done it before the multiverse even existed. I'm also down for him getting one-shotted by Doom and moving on, but that's a waste of an actor. Either way, it makes more sense for him to show up again to tie it all up and not be a total waste.
Someone who saw Captain America 4: Incredible Hulk 2: Falcon and Winter Soldier Season 2 Part 1: An Eternals Story can correct me if I’m wrong. But, wasn’t one of that film’s flaws the way it became a catch-all for tying up loose ends? Granted, Infinity Game / End War had that little Red Skull bit that was just weird and fun set dressing, so like… sure, Kang shit could be weaved into the backdrop of this Secret Doom shit. But, I’m inclined to think leaning into that more than necessary at this stage is a losing proposition.
I will try to ask her something in nyc on my birthday at B&N for her book signing event which is 3/24
I've missed a bunch of marvel movies since end of phase 3 but went to see the captain America movie since a friend invited me. It was so bad, I'm surprised they continue to get some good actors who want to join the MCU. The dialouge was awful. It could be partially since I'm not invested in the movie series anymore but what a fall On a positive note I also have really been enjoying the new animated Spiderman series
I mean, Colleen has the Iron Fist too. They can be a crimefighting duo. And then he can also team up with Luke Cage still as Heroes For Hire. And she can team up with Misty. That way everyone gets what they want.
I’d love to see Colleen do stuff as Iron Fist (Daughters of the Dragon, perhaps) But there’s no need to kill Danny. He’s been an established character for decades and a team up with Luck Cage for a Heroes For Hire show would work wonders. Just make sure Asian stereotypes and distorted cultural perceptions of mysticism are not put into the show. And don’t force him into a Shang-Chi film.
This is the first time I've ever heard a Terror Inc show was being considered. It's also the first time I've ever heard of Terror Inc.
