Explains a lot better. It's not that he didn't know they had the rights to X-Men, it's a combination of...

1. Can't introduce characters until Marvel is ready.
2. Not realizing that X-Men '97 would release before What If Season 3, giving them access to all of the X-Men in that cartoon.
3. Not knowing that Marvel worked out a deal with Hugh Jackman for Deadpool, so they could've used that version of Wolverine.

It still means he's out of the loop, but it's not nearly as ridiculous as what people are claiming.

IIRC, What If.. plans far in advance, so that’s probably the case. These episodes were being worked on as early as 2022.

Animation looks all CGI, so less talented animators getting paid. And idk. I don't like the modernized take. Feel like they're trying to merge Miles and Peter's characters together from this trailer.

I'm sure I understand what you meant by this, but computer animation is made by people just like hand-drawn animation is, and it takes talent and ability to create, especially something stylized like this is. It's pretty insulting to claim that those people are any less able or putting any less work in than someone else.

 

Sorry. Didn't mean to imply it lacks talent. Just meant it's easier for Disney to cheap out and fall back on it as a crutch. Easier to make last minute pivots, which Marvel is now famous for and I hate it
