my problem is that even though it didn't exactly hit me Tony and Steve dying was supposed to be an emotional arc and they're just like we want to make a billion dollars nothing matters the Hulk is purple now
Gotta have the boys (and gals) back for one-or-two more rounds before the MCU soft reboots. I’m expecting a Johansson announcement any moment.
Steve didn't die though. We don't know where old Cap fucked off to. Give me Chris coming back as a crochety old man who can still kick ass.
Damn, this and RDJ could have been awesome surprises in the theater but I guess they can’t help themselves in creating hype instead. I understand how crazy hard it is to keep things secret but even kinda knowing Tobey/Andrew were gonna be in No Way Home before it came out, you still weren’t 100% sure and that anticipation/hoping helped it make one of the best theater experiences I’ve had when you see them for the first time.
I mean this isn’t Disney confirming Chris Evans. It’s one of the trades. Same thing that you’re describing with Andrew and Tobey.
The movie starts filming in spring. The big characters would have leaked in some way before Comic Con 2025. Might as well just confirm them once the film starts to be promoted but keep whatever roles they have as a secret (except RDJ because he is the main character of the film).
One element from the comics I hope they do in the payoff to the Multiverse saga to end one of the major character's arcs : Nick Fury transcends humanity and becomes a The Watcher like figure
Look I love Evans but he's barely been gone from the MCU. Even less so than RDJ because he does cameos all the time (Free Guy, D&W). It just seems really, really desperate.
The fight against the Masters of Evil won’t be 1v1 Sam will be teaming up with others to fight them. He’ll probably get a few hits on each member.
That’s the leading rumor. Similar to Thanos and the Black Order, Doom won’t be the only one getting his hands dirty and will have his minions. Narratively, it makes sense. You need different groups for the film to focus on. And what better way to show how capable your new heroes are than to show them defeating evil versions of the OGs? I’m not sure if they’ll be called the “Masters of Evil.” It’s just what some of the leakers are calling them.
It’s crazy that all the leakers didn’t have these scoops before Chris Evans was announced by the trades.
Same as when Hugh was announced to return as Wolverine. No scooper had any idea. I think it’s a lot more difficult to get hearsay regarding casting. A lot of it can happen very quickly and with only a few parties involved. The few scoopers with actual accuracy get their info from concept artists, costume designers, etc.
I’m interested in seeing Sam’s Cap take the lead. I think Mackie was charismatic in TFAWS and that he can be a good leading man. Marvel has confidence in him. But we all know team Bucky is where it’s at.
