Evans as Cap from whatever universe is Doom is from?

 

I mean, Masters of Evil has been rumored to appear. We could get an evil Steve on the team

 

So we make Mackie the new Cap just to have him upstaged by Steve Rogers in his next appearance?

 

For whatever reason I am not feeling this.

 

Well, if Steve is back and is evil then he’ll probably be Hydra Supreme and technically not Captain America.

We could get Sam’s Cap vs evil Steve.

That would be cool

 

I’ll be excited in the seat watching it, but this reeks of desperation even more now.

 

We were all saying that RDJ and Evans would return at the end of the Multiverse Saga because that’s what the saga is.

It’s just that Marvel is not giving them the exact Tony and Steve roles we imagined.

 

I like this a lot actually. I didn’t realize at first that you didn’t mean like an actual Cap, but an evil one. It would make the recasting for villains thing a bit more interesting.

 

Give me my Simu Liu returning as Shang-Chi, dammit!

 

Yeah but at the end though. Like Secret Wars. We just had Chris Evans in D&W, they really could’ve saved his appearance for the biggest movie. Same reason I’m annoyed that SM4 might have Andrew and/or Tobey again. Spread them out so it has more impact.

 

And I think it’s what the actors prefer, too. RDJ and Evans both ended their roles on a high note. I highly doubt they would be enthusiastic to come back only to portray the same versions of those characters.

But to come back to play an entirely different version and be in a new state of mind….artistically that could be fun

 

If this was heroic Steve Rogers as the actual Captain America, then I’d agree. Having him appear in Doomsday is too early. If he is an evil Steve that’s part of Doom’s Masters of Evil (and isn’t recognizable as the Steve we knew in the Infinity Saga) then ok. Let them cook

 

Sorry, I was speaking more from my perspective before you mentioned evil Cap. I don’t think any of us expected RDJ as Doom and I didn’t expect Chris to already show up again, especially after the Johnny cameo. It can definitely be cool though and I’m not hating on the idea if it’s done well. Still smells a little desperate though. Lol

 

Apparently RDJ stated in a podcast that Marvel was talking to him about Doom shortly after Ant-Man. If that’s so, then Marvel probably had this “same actor, different role” planned before Majors and Kang were out.

Could have been due to the response to Kang in Ant-Man 3 or that they simply figured out their vision for the end of the saga.
