And that can be Denzel as an older T’Challa, but this film won’t be out until the multiverse saga is over. Not sure if Marvel will want to revive that dead horse of a concept for films after Secret Wars
I mean I don’t think it would happen, but Deadpool will almost certainly be a part of the MCU going forward and he isn’t from the prime MCU timeline, so why wouldn’t Denzel be able to be the new combined universe’s T’Challa, having originated in a different universe?
Wouldn’t be surprised if Deadpool/Wolverine and whoever else from the Foxverse end up staying in the main MCU after Secret Wars since the world’s will be colliding (if they follow the comics). Since they plan on using Deadpool/Wolverine for a while I don’t see them constantly jumping universe to universe.
That’s not what I was saying. What I’m saying is that like Deadpool/Wolverine, and presumably variants of other characters, Denzel would (potentially off screen) end up in, and stay in the main universe as a result of Secret Wars. Nothing about jumping universe to universe. Again, I don’t think he’s even going to be playing T’Challa, just explaining how it could work.
I wish that would happen. Denzel would have been a great younger T’Challa in the 90s. An older, more experienced T’Challa in the MCU would be welcomed
I’m seeing people give the idea that he could be Achebe. Achebe is the one remaining Black Panther supervillain to not be introduced. His connection to dark/sinister forces could also align with the rumors of post-Secret Wars focusing more on the supernatural.
i find it hard to care with how bad the sequel was and how uninteresting shuri is/problematic letitia wright is
I won’t hold it against Coogler that Wakanda Forever was mid, because he had to put aside all his original plans and come up with a quick plan B due to Boseman’s passing. Now that the sequel is done and he’s had more time to develop Black Panther 3, I have confidence in him. I also believe that Shuri won’t be at the center of the film. She was the obvious and safe choice given the rushed script, but with this one being set after Secret Wars, many more possibilities are now open. The precedent of the mantle being passed (from T’Chaka to T’Challa in Civil War to Black Panther, and Shuri taking up the mantle in Wakanda Forever) is already established.
Jona Xiao is appearing on press releases for Eyes of Wakanda. She is probably voicing the rumored Iron Fist.
Not sure how much of this was already know but a rundown was posted today regarding what Phase 1 almost was Iron Man Mandarin was originally planned but after Favreau’s pitch, it was decided that the Mandarin was too fantastical for the more grounded approach Stane was on standby to be the villain in the sequel but replaced the Mandarin after Bridges was chosen Favreau negotiated for a higher pay than Marvel wanted for him to direct Iron Man 2. This caused Marvel to seek out a new director for The Avengers. Favreau was also unhappy that Iron Man 2 was being turned into an ad for The Avengers, which caused production to start with an unrealized script The Avengers Zack Penn, the original writer, wanted to reduce Thor’s role due to concerns of mixing magic with Iron Man’s realism. He also wanted Red Skull to be the villain instead of Loki. Hemsworth and Hiddleston changed Penn’s mind. Penn then wrote the scene from Ultron where everyone tries to pick up Thor’s hammer Due to Norton’s actions, the film was planned to only feature Banner in his Hulk form. This idea was reworked after Ruffalo was hired. Due to The Incredible Hulk not making much money and Thor/First Avenger being up in the air (in terms of box office), Iron Man was planned as the central character and an opening was written that focused on him disposing a random villain. Ezekiel Stane was also included due to Whedon’s concern that Loki couldn’t be big enough of a villain. Feige hated the idea after reading the script. Wasp was included once scheduling conflicts appeared to question Black Widow’s appearance. Whedon had to introduce the character in his script which would have taken time away from the group. Whedon wrote scenes showing Steve’s struggle to adapt in the 21st century. These were later saved for Winter Soldier.
“the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men.” Marvel Boss Kevin Feige On 'Fantastic Four', 'Deadpool & Wolverine'
I’d be perfectly fine with the Fantastic Four and the X-Men leading the MCU for phase 7 and most of 8. Maybe they tackle Mr Sinister or Apocalypse (with some help from free agent Avengers like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange). There can be small groups of Avengers (East Coast Wilson’s Cap, Kate Bishop, etc. West Coast Shang-Chi, Ant-Man, etc.) popping up, but save the big Avengers lineup for when it’s time to adapt Avengers vs X-Men. I really want to see a wave of Mutants from all corners of the comics get their chance to shine in the film and shows for 4 - 5 years. Give us all of those stories.
It’s annoying how much some of the central themes of the x-men fit in todays day and age, and how those themes are gonna be ignored or called “woke” lol
‘97 was received quite well and the “that’s woke” crowd didn’t seem to bother it to the extent of films like The Marvels, Love and Thunder, or Eternals. But since those films I’ve also stopped reading comments on most message boards and social media, so maybe ignorance is bliss.
