I’d fucking love to see my guy Paul Rabin, and see the most annoying fans alive lose their minds, lol.
Not sure I trust any leakers anymore, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is true regardless. After DP3 made $1.3 billion they’ll of course want Hugh to be in the MCU for as long as possible
Production Weekly is not a trade, so take with a grain of salt even though it’s most likely inevitable to happen anyway.
Production Weekly said that Shang-Chi 2 and Armor Wars would both start filming in early 2025, so, yeah…….
Cosmic Circus also stated in April that Knull would be a villain in Venom 3, which all know to be true now. What I Heard: 'Spider-Man 4', Venom and Knull summary • Knull is not a one-and-done • Recent reshoots for Venom 3 are said to most likely be for connecting Brock to the MCU again • Knull is likely the villain for Spider-Man 4. • Marvel already has one piece of the puzzle (symbiote from Brock’s universe still in the MCU) • Sony will reconnect Brock to the MCU. • Knull learns of this and plans to overtake not just Brock’s universe, but the entire multiverse. • This will keep the film street-level but also have a multiverse aspect to it. I personally think this is all very plausible, and this lines up with earlier reports of Marvel having to compromise with Sony.
I’m not familiar with Knull so I don’t really know how he applies to the multiverse, so I’ll probably deep dive later. But if they really compromised on the multiverse shit, I really hope Marvel gets their way about Tobey and Andrew. I don’t get how studios don’t understand that overusing something is just ruining the impact it has. Same thing with Hugh Jackman. I love Hugh as Wolverine, but it’s not going to be as exciting seeing him 7 appearances from now and the MCU X-Men are a few movies deep and never have their own Logan. ‘Til he’s 90 I guess. Lol
Do not see how that possibly keeps it "street-level" unless my understanding of what that term means is horribly wrong. I also read this as Knull learning Sony will reconnect Brock to the MCU and deciding to torch the multiverse, which I actually think is a pretty plausible response to the news.
He doesn't. He's only the source of all symbiotes, but he's not a multiversal being, at least not in the comics.
My take from “street-level” is that it will be contained in the streets of NYC, although, Brock will be helping in those fights (maybe he’ll also fight Peter when he first arrives). Knull’s conquest will be for the multiverse, but for Peter it will be about protecting his New York
True, but it all depends on how it’s executed. We already know Marvel had to comprise, so it’s not going to be as “street-level” as any of us hope.
Yeah sorry but that’s just fucking dumb. If they scrapped Daredevil to appease Sony, then they definitely scrapped the rumored Kingpin storyline. Highly doubt it’ll be even remotely close to street level now. Doesn’t really make a lot of sense if the villain is a possible multiversal threat and Spider-Man teams up with characters from other universes. Lol I can only hope that Shang-Chi takes Daredevil’s place in whatever the new story is, but I’m sure Sony wants Andrew and Tobey in it instead.
I will admit that I enjoy Hardy’s Brock much more than the Venom movies themselves, so I’m into the idea of Hardy and Holland getting screen time together.
That I’m actually down for because Tom Hardy will be awesome regardless. But multiverse sized stakes with the villain and Sony possibly getting their way with more stuff is just a bummer. Daredevil team-up would’ve been cool regardless of what the plot was, so that’s why I’m just hoping for it to still be a cool team-up with an MCU character and not the Spider-Men again. Was it ever true that one of Sony’s terms for the collab deal was that an MCU character had to be featured like they were in the first 3 movies? Or was that just some bullshit someone made up years ago and it just spread? Lol The terms could’ve also changed by now, but I know one of the rumors this year was that Sony didn’t think Daredevil was relevant enough to be the featured character. And look where we’re at now. Idk maybe Beau DeMayo will post a 1000 page pdf on his onlyfans that leaks all of the inner workings at Marvel thanks to an encrypted flash drive he snuck out after they fired him.
I’m not sure what the actual deal is but it makes sense for Sony to demand one MCU character in each film, so I wouldn’t be surprised. A report stated that Sony is hesitant on Daredevil playing a large role due to how connected it would be to the Netflix shows, but I have a feeling that Sony simply wants to put one of their franchise characters (Venom) in the film while they still have the multiverse excuse. After Secret Wars pretty much seals up the multiverse for a bit, I’m sure Sony will be ok with Spidey/Daredevil vs Kingpin. At that point we can bet that a young Miles will be involved.
I don’t know that I buy this whole “Knull is the villain of Spider-Man 4” thing yet, but I truthfully wouldn’t be mad at it. My confidence in this Marvel Studios machinery actually making a “grounded” movie without flat green screen visuals is… very low, lol. So, pick a baddie who can at least be schlocky fun.
