Tim Blake Nelson, everyone. Tim Blake Nelson: Western 'Shoot,' 'Captain America: Brave New World' “I deeply, deeply grieved over the prospect of not being able to come back into the MCU. All I wanted to do, as an actor, was to figure out what happens to this guy. 18 years later I got to do it and I wasn’t disappointed,” he said. “It was a great challenge and I was guided beautifully by Julius Onah, who’s an indie director. These are real directors who want to work with real actors and give them opportunities to play outlandish characters. Marvel supports that.” Despite some recent voices to the contrary, prematurely predicting its demise, according to Nelson, one should never “count Marvel out.” “Marvel is an unheard-of phenomenon in movie history. Kevin Feige and his studio created dozens of connected movies that exist in one cinematic universe, to use their term. There’s no comparable achievement. So no – I don’t think it’s over,” he notes, calling “Captain America” “the most grounded” of MCU franchises – along with “Logan.” “This is going to be a wonderful movie,” he insists. “I couldn’t respect Martin Scorsese more, he’s his own genre, but I disagree with him when he derides Marvel. I come down on the side of Marvel movies absolutely being cinema. They return us to being kids again. When they are really good, and they often are, you lose yourself in them. Are they profound? Are they ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘Miller’s Crossing,’ are they ‘Bicycle Thieves,’ ‘Schindler’s List’ or Kieślowski? No, but they aren’t aspiring to be. They are entertainment and there’s artistry involved in them.” “That’s my Marvel speech.”
Re: Sony complaining about SM4 being closely connected to Daredevil after the overhaul Newest AMA from Alex Perez mothman9583: Do you know if Kingpin is still in the script for SM4? Do you think we’ll get an MCU Norman Osborn or Otto Octavius? Alex: There’s been a story shift for Spider-Man 4. It’s very likely that the storyline with Kingpin might be saved for post-Secret Wars. I’ll know more about that soon. As for MCU Norman or Otto, not yet. But soon.
Saving the storyline of Kingpin after Secret Wars is fine with me if Peter gets the black suit in secret wars. Then Peter can have the black suit while fighting against Kingpin and the mafia.
If Sony is mad about TV-MA daredevil being in a Spiderman film there is no way Sony allows spiderman to team up with Deadpool
Sony's crazy though. Show them how much Deadpool is making and be like "Don't you want summa dat Deadpool bux?"
What do you mean, they're off to a great start. Shitty creeper Leto and a better villain they stole from the MCU. I think it had something to do with Spider-Man? Looking into it.
I now absolutely believe that they will make this a Spider-Men vs Multiversal Sinister Six. Especially because Sony reportedly wanted to find a way to get Toby and Andrew back with Tom.
Battleworld, 3 Spider-Men vs. Venom, Morbius, Kraven, Vulture, and maybe 2 others? Sounds very much like something Sony would try to do.
In that case you have to include the three spider women too. As central characters. And have one of them be Tom’s new love interest. Just doing my best to think like Sony here.
Would be cool, but don’t see them doing a Marvel movie. Especially if they’re only picked because they’ve done multiverse before.
