I wonder if Marvel will go back to putting the X-Men and Fantastic 4 into their own comic series instead of dispersing them throughout all of the other series for characters for which they already own the film rights.
These are all questions I have as well, especially after reading this quote from the EW article about Dark Phoenix: Now obviously the script for that film was written long before this merger, but I am interested in what that twist means and if it may tie in to the future MCU in any way.
I would say the Sokovia incident is a great opportunity for Dr Doom and it could be done quickly, but with the MCU going more cosmic, Galactus might be focused on first. I just hope we get a proper and menacing Magneto and he doesn’t get drowned out by all of the other Fox villains that will make appearences.
I’d love Magento to be a recurring villain in the MCU if done right. I could see the MCU being split into two different storylines, the cosmic stuff planned while Doom and the X-Men stuff on Earth for the other. Plus, Deadpool is included somewhere in that
I'm not sure I want to see Deadpool outside of an R-rated setting. They already set the precedent and I don't think they should back pedal on that.
They could have it where Deadpool is self aware that he is entering a PG-13 film (X-Men or Avengers) and he censors himself. His solo films will definitely be R.
One thing is for sure. Kevin Feige wasn’t joking when he said then MCU post-Avengers 4 will be dramatically different. An Avengers vs X-Men is pretty much inevitable as well.
I feel like trying to throw the X-Men into the MCU would make no sense. They can't just make mutants a thing out of nowhere.
I’ve seen a lot of comments from people not wanting another origin movie but in the MCU, you kinda have to. It’s not like you can’t just throw them in there and act like they’ve been there all along with no reference to them prior.
How so? The Inhumans have been 100% separated from the film universe, but we know they exist. I'm not sure there has been any mention of them in the films but in the shows they've been around for four years and in the universe, at least 30-40 via the moon.
im excited at the possibilities though i fully acknowledge how weird it is to see Disney just kind of dominating everything. X-Men could work as some sort of strain from the Inhumans, or just have some sort of catalyst that creates mutants like Bang Babies in the DC universe. im biased because X-Men are my favorite superhero team and id love seeing them in the MCU but i totally get how narratively it would be strange to just suddenly have mutants. its also difficult to set up Xaiver and Magneto because of how far back their history goes, unless they decide to take the original 70s X-men First Class team and make them the "first" X-Men in the MCU but that could get iffy. theres potential but id be fine with X-Men being its own separate thing. Fantastic Four on the other hand would be a wonderful addition. I want Marvel to embrace just how cheesy and kind of lame F4 are. Make them these like 50s pulp kind of colorful characters that maybe take the hero thing a bit too seriously, we dont need another Fan4stic with dark brooding Reed Richards and the like.
Idk, I just feel like it would be really weird if they make such a huge deal about people with super powers in the movies to then have a ton of mutants show up with no mention prior. I haven't seen any mentions of Inhumans in any movie or Netflix show which are all I've seen so I feel like it'd be weird for them to show up too.
I would be down with 1) Thanos changing reality with the stone and re-writes history with the Mutants always existing 2) The x-gene has been dormant or whatever and Thanos does something with the gauntlet that causes the x-gene to “awaken” in people across the universe. It could easily be retconned if they say that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch got their powers by the Mind Stone awakening their x-gene.
