It’s exactly the paint by numbers director that Marvel seems to want/need for these big Avengers movies.
shawn levy might be a good person, but none of his films jump out as being worth watching and he seems like he only gets these big projects out of being connected or really good w/ deadlines and staying on budget
I’ll be happy to have my mind changed after D&W, but I don’t really think he should be a top choice before they even see how the movie does.
For our Netflix-marvel watch, we’re now on Luke Cage season 1. It seems like the connected universe stuff works so much better in these shows than the movies? I knew Rosario Dawson popped up in a lot of these but Trish & Hogarth from Jessica Jones making small appearances in Daredevil and Luke Cage just makes it feel more whole, not Easter-eggy
Film Twitter: What is that? I think this article answers your question in every possible way except the one that means anything.
Yeah more or less. They hate pretty much anything that ever happens. Basically the type of people that would’ve bitched nonstop about Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker
If anything “””film twitter””” is glad that they’re hiring a bland paint by numbers director for Avengers and not an interesting director
I mean I’ve always seen Film Twitter referring to the type of people that literally complain about everything and come across like they actually hate movies. So yeah differing opinions had nothing to do with what I was saying and I was just explaining what I thought was considered Film Twitter. How silly of me
I wasn’t saying I was right, I was saying you could’ve just corrected me instead of being an ass because I made a mistake.
I don’t think you made a mistake, I think you said what you meant. But “””””””film twitter””””” generally refers to a community on Twitter that talk about movies a lot but I’ve never once seen a definition of “””””film twitter”””” that doesn’t change person to person, so I think as a term it’s meaningless and to define it as people who “hate pretty much anything that ever happens. Basically the type of people that would’ve bitched nonstop about Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker”, is silly. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be an ass. I just think that’s a silly definition of a group of people and publications with a million different thoughts and opinions. this isn’t a defense of “”””film twitter””””, I’m sure many people associated with it are assholes or constantly miserable. It’s just goofy to put any stock into such a loosely defined group imo
film twitter is never used as a positive term. it’s always pejorative. and usually coming from people who a) are less informed about movies/have worst taste than those talking on twitter and b) are responding to people kind of being assholes about it on twitter. both are true
I did make a mistake because I thought it was just referring to those annoying people that have nothing but negativity and seem like they hate movies. I didn’t know it was just everything film on twitter. I wasn’t trying to shit on anybody, I just genuinely misinterpreted what Film Twitter was this whole time.
I can’t say Levy is entirely a wrong choice. The Russos have made some bad stuff but their Marvel films are good. So long as Levy has an interesting idea and has a team to help him execute it, go for it.
Shawn Levy is a good choice for Marvel. He’s one of like 3 actually nice directors I’ve ever met and I assume he will make a functional and entertaining movie that I will not see, unless he remembers me from our work together in Real Steel (2011) and calls me up to be Leap Frog or something.
