I just don’t think he’s cut out for it. He’s shown that he’s not that good with juggling a lot of characters
I'm not sure if we've seen an example of this from him exactly, which might be a point on its own. I'd certainly prefer it be in the hands of someone with ensemble experience. Dr. Strange 2 played to his b-grade horror camp sensibilities, which I think is great for him. I'd prefer he do more in that realm, personally.
I’m a little high so I can’t think of how to explain myself better. Lol. The whole ensemble thing is an issue, but really wasn’t what I was trying to get at. But I want to be clear that I actually really liked MoM even though I see a lots of its flaws. My brain is just telling me he doesn’t have it for this one.
Still think Benson & Moorhead should get both Avengers films. Raimi may have more experience than them, but they’ve proven themselves in the Marvel realm so far and I think it would work great like the Russos did
MoM also showed that Raimi doesn't have much interest in the larger MCU outside of the project he's working on. That could (and I hope would) change if they gave him the big tentpole film, but I'd rather those reigns be handed to someone who wouldn't have to be forced to pay attention to the larger universe
my friend and I were just talking about Raimi a couple of days ago and we said the same thing (though he did do that bad wizard of oz movie) then I yapped at my friend for like 20 minutes about how good The Quick and The Dead is
