If Justin Lin is being considering I’m going to assume there will be a lot of action and that the Gang War rumors are true
Tempered expectations for almost everything MCU nowadays, but I want to like this. What's with the asterisk in the title? Also, X-Men '97 has been great so far. Makes me want to rewatch the original series.
My hype died when Yeun had to drop out and I don’t think it will be recovered. Other than seeing Ghost and Red Guardian again, this film doesn’t pique my interest. X-Men 97 has indeed been great, tho.
lewis pullman is good and i still love the character but my hype for the mcu as a whole is below the basement right now
2 years too late for Avengers 5 Should have had Avengers: Secret Invasion in 2023 with Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, Yelena, She-Hulk, Hulk, Captain America (Sam), and War Machine. Maybe even Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos appearing. Scott could still be off doing his thing with Kang and The Marvels could have dealt with the fallout of Secret Invasion. Oh well.
I wish we lived in the universe where that happened just so that this discourse wasn't recycled every two weeks.
Anthony Mackie Says Marvel Is a ‘Space of Controlled Entertainment’: ‘There’s Only So Much Creativity You Can Bring to the Table’ Because of Comic Book Ties
To put this into proper context, he's comparing it to Twisted Metal, where they had a bare bones plot to begin with, so they had to come up with more on their own. Whereas the MCU has the comics as a base, and so has certain expectations baked in as far as character and story direction. I'd argue that the MCU has proven that they're not afraid to deviate from the comics where it makes sense, but he's mostly accurate. I am curious though, if they make a second season of Twisted Metal, if they start aligning more with the games.
