The biggest issue at the test screening was the political message. It wasn’t divisive but simply “uninspired and unengaging.”
It's written by the same people who did Falcon and the Winter Soldier and gave us "what if want to tear down borders... but TOO MUCH". So. That could just be an easy assumption for clout.
Basically, a Disney exec wanted content put out at twice the speed as normal, which led to a drop in quality in Marvel/Star Wars content. This has now led to reversals for both IP's, with longer timelines being touted for both shows and movies, which is almost always a good thing.
I mean to be fair, we got Solo and The Rise of Skywalker, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, were all under Iger’s model.
I maintain that FATWS was a lot of fun and I could watch Sam try to get a loan all day. The only complaint I have is the disservice they did the "villains" of the story. Similar complaint for Black Widow which I hope will be rectified with Thunderbolts and giving Taskmaster agency over her actions. But I highly enjoyed the dynamic of Natasha and her "family" just like I enjoyed the dynamic of Sam, Bucky, and Zemo. If there's one thing I think Marvel does consistently right, it's the little moments between characters.
