We can now officially say Ant-Man killed Kang, yeah? Pretty monumental for the character. I’d love for Boyega to come on board as a variant.
Wonder who they'll recast with. Stick with Renslayer? Terrence Howard? S2 of Loki already set it up if it were to come to this.
Yeah, I definitely take that as them ditching Kang. I disagree with the decision and think recasting would be the better move. Especially halfway through the saga trying (successfully or unsuccessfully) to set him up as the big bad. Feels like a huge waste if they just drop the character now.
Makes sense as to why Cretton left. Most likely a) didn’t want to work with Majors given the evidence b) knew it will be a heavy burden to deal with if a new villain was selected All the films leading up to Avengers 5 have a script so either some major rewrites will happen or the villain will have to be introduced and fleshed out in A5, which will complicate focusing on the new team.
No idea how they’ll have a new villain in Avengers 5, but seeing as I didn’t care for Kang I’m open for whatever they throw at us
oh I wasn't intending for that to come across as challenging you. Was just saying if this means they have to make significant changes then it's worth it to ensure an abuser isn't in the picture anymore, regardless of what the quality will be.
If they go ahead with Doom then I say make avengers 5 Doom heavy, similar to infinity war and Thanos. Leading straight into Secret Wars with Doom as the antagonist again. Write the F4 film to where it introduces doom slightly
Rushing into Doom could easily turn bad. Just get another Avengers villain that can be used to set up whatever Secret Wars will be and have it be a one-and-done. Might not even have to be that heavy and can simply be a villain that causes the new Avengers team to form while only being an earthly threat. Why not have Ultron return? The audience will already be familiar with him. Any competent writer could bring Ultron from the plot elements surrounding Brave New World and Thunderbolts.
I like this. Make Avengers 5 be Ultron with the New Avengers, while you begin hinting at Doom and building to him for Secret Wars. Push that one back like 5 years and have a couple phases before then. Stretch the Multiverse saga to like 5 phases.
No way can they stretch the multiverse saga anymore than they already have. It’s already becoming stale
I still want a Kang, but it would be real easy to use the Ultron from What If. It would still involve multiverse shenanigans and be a multiveral threat, and have the bonus of making What If important to the Saga.
while I’d be down for a fun back-to-basics Avengers film, I’d also be into What If Ultron appearing. Just might have to nerf him a bit depending on who is in the new Avengers lineup.
Secret Wars should be able to still reach its deadline if Avengers 5 isn’t Kang or multiverse related. Deadpool 3 has that covered. If you’re reading this Cretton or Feige, please remove any multiverse travels from Shang-Chi 2. Thanks.
