How does the 90's setting work? Seems odd to me.

 

So they're just straight-up Wonder Woman-ing Carol by having her show up in a team-up film already established, and then jumping back in time (albeit much less) to tell her story?

I'm 100% alright with this, but it's definitely a funny similarity.

Also, OH MY GOSH CAPTAIN MARVEL COSTUME AND THE SKRULLS AND THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE AWESOME OH YES.

 

This makes me think that the Skrulls 90s defeat has them coming back in Phase 4 more clandestinely for a Secret Invasion type event for a future Avengers movie.

 

90s and Skulls, give it to me now.

and yeah, Secret Invasion is definitely in the cards now.
