Yeah I watched it for the first time a few months ago and thought it was great!

 

Jones plays a great “by the book” Marshal nearing on the edge of letting loose due to his obsession over Ford. Fully deserving of his Oscar for it.

The spin-off sucks, tho

 

they've spent almost as long at this point establishing loose ends that go nowhere and giving us zero-stakes empty movies with characters we don't care about as they did in the run from iron man to endgame. insane.

Please stop. There are literally thousands of X-Men stories. We do not need a third adaptation of the God Damned Phoenix Saga.

 

But maybe third time’s the charm?

But seriously, the horse is dead, let’s stop beating it.

 

The only way I will accept a new Phoenix Saga is if it includes Erik The Red whining about his "bloody chest".

 

Reboot the entire MCU start with iron man again.

If Jean is brought into the group from the start then an eventual retelling of Dark Phoenix is inevitable. I wouldn't hate it so long as it's not the first "big" film and we're allowed to actually care about the character and her place in the group.

The first attempt was very watered down while the second attempt was rushed.

 

Nothing is inevitable, Justin. We can fight destiny. We don't have to live like animals.

 

I hope the reunion is as emotional as I envision.
