Unless the problem with the Hulk distribution rights has been resolved somehow I don't see a Hulk film any time soon. Also as much as I love Ruffalo they must have run out of character arc for Banner at this point.
Avengers Campus concept art released at D23 that shows old and new MCU characters (Daredevil red costume, Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing) charging at Thanos
World War Hulk is rumored to be in development and judging from Banner Hulk going to Sakaar in She-Hulk, the rumor could hold some weight.
I remember when World War Hulk was getting announced off the back of Hulk's disappearance at the end of Age of Ultron...
To be fair, people tend to conflate Planet Hulk and World War Hulk, which are part of the same storyline, but completely different arcs. To their credit, Thor: Ragnarok took some influence from Planet Hulk for the Hulk's storyline, so it's not like the rumors were untrue. Honestly, I think this is the best we're going to get. Bits and pieces of Hulk comics adapted here and there where it can be made to work in other movies.
Isn’t that storytelling they should be doing in their movies instead of interviews or have they done that and I missed it
I don’t think any of the movies or shows have said they don’t exist as an active group. There have been references to the Avengers, but none that I can think of that have to be referring to present day. They could all just be referencing the times before Endgame. And after the amount of stuff we have seen, it makes sense their is not an organized team.
I see your MCU, and raise you Star Wars lol. Yeah, Marvel fans are fucking wild. Never though post-credit scenes would be so “controversial”
Any franchise with generations of fans. Old ones don’t want it to change, new ones want it change..but in their preferred way. Just entitlement.
"You know, one thing in the Captain America film is that there currently is a world without the Avengers. Sam Wilson finds himself as Cap at a time where there's not an organization of Avengers." Looks like there won’t be an Avengers team until phase 6. Makes sense considering we won’t get an Avengers film until Kang Dynasty. Technically, I don’t think the Avengers have been an organization since Civil War. Just a group of allies in Infinity War and Endgame. "But just because there's not an organization of the Avengers doesn't mean there's not a group of superheroes in the MCU. Not a group, perhaps, as The Avengers but there's a group and they're called the Thunderbolts."
Star Wars is the reigning, undefeated champs of entitled fans, they only like three movies and two shows and they’re just completely unhappy with everything else. Nothing will please them, they just act hateful about what is basically children’s entertainment about aliens, space wizards using space magic, spaceship battles, and how space fascism is bad.
Ohhhhhh it’s always been there for sure, but it just feels much more pronounced as of late because of Rings of Power. Most cries of racism have, over the years, been met by LOTR/Tolkien fans with dismissive hand waving with the usual “Tolkien wasn’t racist so the book can’t be racist” diatribe. That…obviously ignores the racial heirarchy set in place by the story and its denouement where the stark, explicitly contrasted morally white prevails over the “evil” black side in Mordor. It has been argued over the years that this leaves the story open to interpretations of white supremacist visions of ethno-state, and the fans that rally against this thoughtful analysis have always reeked of an uncomfortably familiar cognitive dissonance often found in literary fantasy circles typically conflated with “nerd culture”. I discovered the LOTR books when I was 12 and fell in love with them. The Jackson films only further endeared me to the series and in high school I had an English teacher who spoke with me about the racial implications inherent in the text. I thought it was fascinating to hear an interpretation I’d never been exposed to before and in college I took a film course where I decided to research and write about it. Part of my research involved wading into Tolkien fan messageboards back in the day and asking questions and looking for potential links and suggestions. The response I got instead…oh my. Will never forget that.
