I feel like I'm about to jump into an abyss, but what's the deal with Sabra that you're on about? I can't tell if you have an issue with the character herself or if you're concerned about how she'll be portrayed in the MCU or what the deal is.

 

Now I want John Turturro in the MCU now too.

 

Kind of legit surprised we haven't yet.

 

Right? Like before i posted that i went to his wiki filmography to double check and it's kind of shocking it hasn't happened yet.

To be clear, I didn’t have interest in Cap 4 before this announcement. I’m burnt out on average MCU projects, and much of what I’ve heard about that Disney+ show didn’t sound great to me.

But, yeah, a Zionist superhero with a costume based on the Israeli flag, in a film called “Captain America: New World Order,” doesn’t instill much hope in me! I truly cannot imagine a scenario where Marvel Studios uses a character so intrinsically tied to the apartheid situation in Palestine without it being… wildly messy and awkward at best, lol.

 

I mean, she hasn't worn that costume you posted in years, but I don't know enough about anything to know if her current costume is any better or worse. It looks like her current outfit is a pretty basic Marvel spy outfit to me, and I imagine for the MCU they'd choose to put her in something more like that than something blatant.

I dunno, Marvel's proven they're not tied to the comics lore in any way whatsoever when it comes to the movies, so I have no doubt they'll adapt the character in whatever way they have to. I feel like the main target with using her is just to have Israeli representation in the movies, just continuing what they've been doing elsewhere in the MCU.

 

I’m waiting for Red She-Hulk. She’s badass in the comics

Solid cast of Tbolts, but doesn't seem like there are any heavy hitters powers-wise.

Holding out that Sentry will be involved in some way.

 

Just based on the trajectory the overarching arc seems to be going I'm assuming that Ant-Man & Wasp 3 is going to have a bummer Empire Strikes Back ass ending that will set up everything that will eventually lead into Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

 

Mine is Songbird. If Songbird isn't introduced, then this whole thing was a waste of everyone's time.

 

also weird that 2/3rds of the Thunderbolts all have same "former Russian super spy/assassin" origin.

 

It’s not that I’m expecting them to go full classic costume. It’s that the costume is indicative of what kinda character she is. Even if they play coy with the whole Mossad agent and Israeli cop thing, she’s probably gonna be some kinda “Israeli super soldier,” and that’s probably gonna give me bad vibes!

I really hope they do Red Harpy instead of Red She-Hulk. Al Ewing’s Red Harpy in Immortal Hulk and Defenders is easily the best Betty Ross has ever been in the comics.

I thought it was a great presentation. Selfishly I hoped for a little more, but given the dump truck of announcements they made at SDCC, it’s understandable that they didn’t go as wild here.

The only thing I thought was strange is that they didn’t announce anything for Blade, considering it starts shooting next month.
