Spiderman is still with Sony, but when they made the deal with Marvel they had to let them in on decision making process as well. In the end, Marvel won't allow Spiderman to be in anything they don't want associated with their MCU, which would probably be a Rated R Venom. I think this will stand alone from Spiderman for that reason alone.
I think, in the context of the interview, he meant Spider-Man appearances vs Spider-Man solo films. When I looked up his contract, I found this quote a couple places with "[appearances]" added in, which would make more sense. That would cover the high school trilogy that Kevin Feige has talked about, as well as Civil War, Infinity War, and Avengers 4 (or, if he's only in one of those two Avengers films, maybe another future film).

Marvel's 'New Warriors,' With Squirrel Girl, Ordered Straight-to-Series at Freeform (Exclusive) @Henry
lol. Yes. What if Fox still had partial rights a la Quicksilver, this show became really popular, and Fox decided to make their own Squirrel Girl?
lol never heard of Bun Heads but from the title I probably need to give it a shot. I love 10 Things movie so much, I'm scared to watch it lol.
Interesting that Liev Schreiber is voicing the villain. I would have expected the Ultimate version of Prowler to be the main villain, but that wouldn't make sense with Liev doing the voice. Ultimate Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, maybe? He is a big part of Miles' origins.
lol. That would be a good fit. If the movie doesn't start with Miles already established, though, that could flow weird. It might be a good idea to tell an origin story for Miles (whether it's the original one or a tweaked one), and villains directly tied to the origin tend to make stories flow better. I guess you could have Oscorp (or Roxxon or whoever) be accidentally responsible for him getting his powers, and then also have them hire Kraven to get rid of him.
CAPTAIN MARVEL Finds Its Directors In MISSISSIPPI GRIND Helmers Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck Male and female duo directors.
They landed the job after an extensive search. Last summer, Marvel had whittled down its list of contenders to include Niki Caro, Lesli Linka Glatter and Lorene Scafaria for the highly coveted job, which will mark Marvel's first female-centric tentpole. The studio was making the hiring of a woman a priority for the project. hey it's almost like if you make something a priority you can make it happen! weird.
