Laura Donnelly is playing Elsa Bloodstone in Werewolf by Night https://www.thecosmiccircus.com/exc...playing-elsa-bloodstone-in-werewolf-by-night/
An interesting choice. Honestly, I didn't like or stick with The Nevers, but I don't think that had anything to do with her. I'm interested to see how this pans out.
So now the Midnight Suns lineup seems to be Doctor Strange Moon Knight Blade Werewolf by Night Elsa Bloodstone Add Punisher, Scarlet Witch, or Black Knight and it will be A+
I honestly wouldn't want Punisher to be a part of this. It might be interesting because Punisher is such a grounded entity, to see him out of his element (and yes, I'm well aware of FrankenCastle), but I feel like I'd prefer him to be with the other street level heroes like Daredevil and Spider-Man instead of with the more mystical corner of the MCU. I'm sure Black Knight will be part of it though.
Strange is one of the biggest members, though. He is also one of the big leads in the MCU. It’s safe to say he will be a big part of Midnight Suns. It’s not like there’s only room for him or Brother Voodoo. They both can be in it if the rumors of Brother Voodoo appearing soon are true.
I added Punisher due to him being part of the team in the comics. It would be cool to see him with the other street heroes and hopefully he meets Spider-Man, but I’d also take him being part of Midnight Suns.
A thought experiment i wanted to try here: if a Disney executive approached you and said 'Hey we'll do a movie or series based on any Marvel character/group/storyline that we haven't covered yet you want and we'll do it exactly the way you want' what would you pick? I'd choose a live action Mojoverse limited series. Keeping all the "Spartacus but as a Chomsky-esque satire of modern media" from the original comic.
I'd pick Academy X, but yeah I've seen enough fan ideas/dialogue to know they shouldn't be let within 50 miles of the people making those kinds of decisions
If it can just be a story they haven’t really covered I’d want a Disney+ show starring Leung’s Wenwu which chronicles his battles throughout world history, his thoughts/takes/actions on various moments throughout Chinese history, and a conflict involving Rhodey/Stark.
In a hypothetical where I have a true blank check from Disney, I would pitch a film set in a version of the Fox X-Men canon inspired by the 1989 event Inferno, from the perspective of Madelyne Pryor.
If I were in charge, I'd pick the weirdest C-level heroes. Give me Darkhawk. Give me Sleepwalker. Give me Nightwatch.
As they get through more and more characters i think we are going to see more characters like this get elevated. We're 100% going to see Darkhawk in the MCU i'm sure of that. Seeing that Darkhawk played a larger role in the Cosmic storylines in the comics in recent years they're probably going to bring him in the next gen of Cosmic characters after the GOTG lineup changes along with Moondragon, Adam Warlock, Richard Rider or Sam Alexander Nova, Phyla-Vell, Quasar, ect.
Oh yeah, I have no doubt about Darkhawk. James Gunn went on record that Darkhawk was originally considered for Guardians 2. Honestly, I'd love to see Sleepwalker the most out of all of them, but I feel like he might be too similar to Moon Knight in concept. A guy who trades bodies with a member of the dream police when he falls asleep? It's not exactly the same, but I think it walks a lot of the same ground. Nightwatch would be wild though. Guy gets a superhero costume from his future self and then has to wrestle with the responsibility he's been given vs. the idea of fighting his inevitable fate. Then they assassinated his character in She-Hulk, but we can just ignore that.
Nightwatch is Sony and was supposedly in development in the lead up to the first Venom film. Speaking of Sony, I'd be much more interested in pitching something weird there than I would anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lol. Gimme some deep cut Spidey villains and supporting characters to remix into something in the spirit of Deadly & Superior Foes of Spider-Man, Ostrander & Yale's Suicide Squad, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, Zeb Wells' Hellions, etc...
