I think the look enough alike that it wouldn't be totally unbelievable if they were related on film. I don't think they look like they could legitimately be related, but I don't think that matters all that much..
Wonder if they'll wind up on Hulu or Disney+. Disney+ is where they SHOULD go, but then again they do have sex in them and that's a big no-no for Disney.
I'm in the middle of watching s1 of Jessica Jones for the first time, they better end up somewhere else fast
I had a feeling this would eventually happen which is why I purchased Daredevil on Apple TV. I could see them going to Disney+ with an MA warning
Speculation but I wonder if this is a bit like the whole business where Marvel Comics stopped promoting X-Men and Fantastic Four because the films were owned by Fox i.e. Netflix not being keen to support a direct competitor in Disney+
Not sure this logic holds because if they hold a key piece of material for the constant web that is the MCU, then that's a boon for them. To say you can't get the whole picture without having Netflix.
Sure, it's only a theory, but one thing I've learned over the last few years is never to underestimate just how petty multimedia companies can be
Let's not forget how for a while Marvel comics de-emphasized a lot of the characters they didn't have the movie rights to purely out of spite. If they weren't getting these shows back I would imagine that, for example, Charlie Cox would not have appeared in No Way Home and would not be getting integrated into the MCU in any way. That's just how they operate.
I have to believe, based on everything I've heard, that the process for adding connective tissue to these movies is way more natural and seamless than some people think it is. Maybe more now than before, but I picture it pretty much going like either the writer of the script putting something in to start with and Marvel/DC agreeing, or putting something in that reminds Marvel/DC of something else so much that they're like, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if this person was such and such?" Not like they have a list of demands and the scriptwriter bolts them into the dialogue. That's my interpretation though. For all I know everyone's lying out their ass because they're making bank.
I kinda always assumed when they bring someone in they give them a rough idea of what they’re looking to accomplish and then say have at it.
I think that goes either way, if I recall correctly. I remember reading articles where an idea was presented to people and articles where an idea was presented by people. I'm sure it's a collaborative process.
I’ve finished watching most of the Netflix Marvel shows (right on time..) and it was good stuff! But I have to single out one of the best seasons of superhero tv I have ever seen, season 3 of Daredevil. That prison scene was one of the best things they’ve ever done, just stunning work. Nadeem and him discovering Kingpin’s power growing behind the scenes (“You work for Wilson Fisk now..”) and so much other great stuff. I didn’t bother with Luke Cage or Ironfist (meh) but I did like Jessica Jones and The Defenders. I started to watch the first season of Agents of SHIELD but it’s been a real slowburn for me, I’m almost done with the first season but unfortunately it’s getting taken off Netflix so I’ll have to decide if it’s worth getting Disney + to finish 6 more seasons considering I hear it gets much better.
Even though I enjoyed Iron Fist, I can totally understand someone ignoring it. I do however implore you to watch Luke Cage. Also, since you didn't mention it, did you watch The Punisher?
Oops! I did forget to mention the Punisher. That first season was really good and the second was okay but still very watchable. 3rd favorite behind JJ + DD
I would highly recommend Luke Cage too. it's honestly really great. the Cottonmouth arc is neck and neck with the best of Daredevil imo
