yeah historically I have never been able to convince anyone to watch AoS who wasn't watching it from the jump like I was. it's a real shame because it fucking slaps, and s4 is Marvel's best live-action property, but people just have a roadblock I can't get past when it comes to recommending that show. I've pretty much stopped trying

 

My wife and I watched it (finished S7 the tail end of last year) and loved it. Worth the watch.

 

The multiverse can be very fun so long as the studio sits down and plans everything out regarding the usage of the multiverse. If the studio tells each director to just go have fun then it will probably get messy in the way that comic books can be.

Just limit the multiverse to specific arcs and then close it out with Secret Wars.

 

After captain marvel I thought the next big MCU arc was going to be secret invasion (I know they’re still making a show) but now it definitely feels like they will go all in on multiverse stuff and every major movie will be LOOK WHO WE BROUGHT BACK FOR THIS ONE. Boring.

Eternals dropping on Disney+ on Wednesday

 

To be fair it’s only happened in 1 film and Doctor Strange will be the second. Secret Invasion was never going to be a big arc that’s why it’s only getting a 6 episode mini series.

 

It seems like Marvel is shuffling their deck for Secret Wars down the road with many arcs (Kang, supernatural side, Thunderbolts, Young Avengers, etc.) getting a moment or two to shine before things start to accelerate. Phases 4 and 5 will probably be of mini arcs with the multiverse sprinkled in. Phase 6 will be when things pick up for Secret Wars.

To be fair, when Captain Marvel was written the Fox deal was not complete. Secret Invasion could have been more ambitious at that point. There are no statements, but I feel like the end goal was changed once the Fox deal was complete. Phases 4 and 5 could be what Marvel had planned prior to the Fox deal.

 

Thinking about MCU Phase 6 is going to make my head explode. We'll all be lucky to be alive when that happens.

 

These phases went from a manageable 6 movies in phase 1, to 11 movies and 12 series for phase 4 (from what we know so far).

 

Luckily the disney+ shows aren’t long. They’re usually only 4-5 hours in total.

 

We’ll be at phase 6 within a handful of years. Maybe Earth will exist.

 

They only had the OG Avengers to worry about. Simpler times

It seems that some cameos are being planned with a purpose in mind for the script like Professor X but other cameos will just be throwing something at the wall and seeing if it sticks

 

Ed Norton and Eric Bana would be the funniest

 

Ed Norton would be funny because his character is still in the MCU. Same with Terrance Howard coming back as Rhodes.

 

Marvel just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks for this has made for some real fun 4Chan "leaks"

 

Ah so watch this the week after it comes out so I don’t gotta hear people hootin and hollerin over every single cameo.

 

Pretty much. I don’t expect a lot of the cameos to get the same response as Tobey and Andrew Spideys, though. There are some that will get loud hoots, but many on the list may just get a “oh cool.”
