I would honestly rather them just say Magneto is dead or so old that he’s basically out of commission than lose that aspect of Magneto's character
I low key would like to see Milana Vayntrub play Kitty Pryde being that nothing came out of her casting as Squirrel Girl.
By the way, Wanda and Pietro aren’t Erik’s biological children in the comics. I know it’s confusing because they weren’t initially, then were for decades, then weren’t again for mostly movies rights reasons, lol. But, as of right now, even though the Erik/Wanda father/daughter dynamic has been re-established, they’re not blood. The twins are actually Romani… which is its own complicated thing that’s not often respected! Also, if you’re curious about the character of Magneto and what he represents (particularly thanks to Chris Claremont), this very long but quite good podcast is worth checking out:
IIRC, after the retcon nothing has been mentioned in regard to a Jewish heritage. They were abducted by the High Evolutionary and then given to the Maximoff couple, who actually ended up being their biological aunt and uncle(?) As far as I’m aware, Natalya Maximoff is still their biological mom and nothing has been confirmed nor denied about her being Jewish. So they could still be Jewish, could not.
I believe the implication is that they’re all/mostly Romani, but their family tree hasn’t exactly been mapped, lol. I know some people really appreciated them being both Romani and Jewish, so they could represent both of those groups massacred in the holocaust, so maybe that’ll be reintroduced someday without Erik. And, yeah, @justin. the CEREBRO podcast absolutely rules. It’s my current favorite podcast. The ones for Dazzler, Iceman, and Magneto are some of the best to start with, for different reasons. And, if you like the idea of the guest being a comics creator, I liked the ones with Ann Nocenti, Fabian Nicieza, and Leah Williams a lot.
Kingpin Actor Reacts to Fan Backlash Against Hawkeye Scenes Vincent: It's the same canon, but people get confused about things. One paragraph later. The Direct: While it's still unclear if this is the very same Kingpin from Daredevil that transferred into the canon MCU Peak journalism.
Echo Disney+ MCU TV Series Has Punisher & Daredevil S3 Writes sounds like pretty good news to me (especially the lead writer working on Better Call Saul)
Some really cool leaks about Hulk that’s being “confirmed” by a few leakers At the end of She-Hulk, Bruce will leave Earth to go back to Sakaar to take responsibility and raise his son, Skaar. Not sure if this will eventually lead to World War Hulk, but that would be interesting. Could also be the send off for Ruffalo being that Banner’s departure to Sakaar is his own decision.
I've never been a Marvel guy, but I saw No Way Home in theaters and it was so mind-blowingly good that I've been working my way through the MCU since then. Finished Agent Carter last night and I loved it, I think I've made up my mind to skip Agents of SHIELD though, 123 episodes is a little too much for me. As far as the movies, I've now seen all of phases 1 and 2, excited to kick off phase 3 soon.
Agents of SHIELD is pretty great once you get past the first half of season 1. 123 episodes is a lot though.
maybe I'll get there eventually, it just feels daunting and not-as-high priority when I also haven't seen half the films or any of the Netflix series which I know are very well-regarded (at least Daredevil and Jessica Jones)
as a huge Marvel fan I've never been able to bring myself to watch Agents of Shield haha. even though I've heard good things it's too many episodes and I just don't care. I never finished Luke Cage or watched Iron Fist/Defenders either. Other than that I think I've seen everything.
Agents of Shield is almost guaranteed to be majorly retconned or flat out ignored when it comes to the MCU going forward so I don’t think I’ll ever bother watching it.
I'm the same way. I used to feel very completionist about it. And after sitting through a few seasons of Agents of Shield, I decided it wasn't really necessary. I honestly feel like the movies and Disney+ series are the only things that are absolutely necessary.
I think you needed to watch AOS at the time it was on. It was always fun going to the cinema, watching Winter Soldier or AOU for the first time and then watching a corresponding episode of AOS a day or two later. Knowing a good 2 or 3 seasons aren't really MCU cannon must spoil it slightly for new viewers too. Although with the multiverse now in play, who knows what may happen.
Agents of Shield was the best Marvel TV show, from season 2 on. Season 4 in particular is mind-blowingly good. It finished pretty strong as well. But yeah it's likely not canon anymore, which sucks considering some of the best characters on that show absolutely deserve to be in the movies (particularly Chloe Bennett's character).
tbh this is one of the things that always prevented me from being interested in comic universes; as someone who only ever saw a few of the Marvel movies, it's hard enough to keep track of the universe as it is, and then eventually you get to a point where everything's made up and the points don't matter because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ time travel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ multiverse
I get that AoS has a pretty passionate and loyal fanbase, but to me it just never felt like more than any other network sci-fi show.
