Wait. Were there reports that I missed that said Letitia Wright caused the accident that hurt her? ‘Cause if not, it’s really, really shitty to blame her for being injured pretty bad on set.

 

I wouldn’t say the injuries on set have been caused by Letitia. Just seems like bad luck has been going around often on that set.

 

Now I am curious about a couple things. One, how far would they be allowed to go with a D+ show in terms of content and would it tie to the Netflix series or will it be a full reboot?

 

Frankly, I'd prefer it if they did something like they did with The Incredible Hulk. At the time, the MCU wasn't a sure thing or even more than a gleam in their eye, so they glossed over the Hulk's origin and put Banner on the run like he was at the end of Ang Lee's movie.

I would love it if the Netflix show became canon. That would be the best for everyone. But a close second would be to treat Daredevil in the MCU as if everyone has seen the Netflix show and reference broad strokes so it doesn't outright negate it as unofficial canon.

As for how far they can go, I had read that there's a tug of war at Disney right now over whether they expand Disney+ to include more mature fare or keep things family-friendly. Bob Chapek wants to expand it and Bob Iger wants to not, because Iger is an asshole.

 

If push came to shove, they could throw it on Hulu since Disney owns that too. It’s been rumored/suggested that they wanna bring Jon Bernthal back to reprise his Punisher (which would be fantastic) but there’s NO WAY a Punisher show could be on D+ so maybe all the mature content could be regulated to Hulu. They’ve already done it with M.O.D.O.K and Hit Monkey so might as well.

They better bring back Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll as Foggy and Karen, one of the things I enjoyed the most about the show was the chemistry the three had with each other and I’d like to see that carried on with this show.

 

I thought Iger stepped down? Does he still have a say somehow?

 

A quick search indicates he's still executive chairman, but I guess that's only until the end of the year. So my guess is once he's gone for good, Chapek will be free to do what he wants.

 

I think Moon Knight will be a pretty good baseline for how dark they're willing to go on Disney+

 

This is absolutely true. I'm sure we won't see Moon Knight, y'know, slicing people's faces off, but the subject material alone I think is something that will require a lot of care to handle appropriately. I'm very interested to see how it turns out.

 

That’s true though. Probably won’t be as adult as the books but it definitely won’t be lighthearted. Speaking of that, I wonder how much weight there is to the rumor that Blade and Dracula are slated to appear in the show.

 

I hope not. Moon Knight has enough villains of his own to mine from without borrowing someone else's. Unless it's a post-credits scene of some kind, which is entirely possible.

 

I could see Blade showing up, since they run in similar circles. Plus, since they pretty much are hinting at an upcoming Midnight Sons thing with that Eternals post-credits scene, it would make sense to set something up for that through the show.

 

The Black Knight/Blade connection does intrigue me, because I've never known them to associate in the comics and Black Knight has never been one of the Midnight Sons. Apparently they did serve together in a British intelligence agency, MI-13, made to track the paranormal. I don't think that's where they're going though.

 

Considering there’s a Midnight Sons (changed to “Suns” for the game) video game coming out next year, Marvel clearly wants the name out there in the public consciousness. Could see them putting together a version of that team on screen and including Black Knight in it.

 

Strange, Moon Knight, Blade, Black Knight, Werewolf by Night, & Punisher. Let’s just ignore Morbius.

Feige has all the pieces. I’d be very surprised if a Midnight Sons(Suns) film/show is not with us by the end of 2024.

 

For the record, I would expect it to be spelled "Midnight Suns" (like the video game is) if it does happen, to avoid using the gendered term. And the lineup won't be all-male.

Also Midnight Suns is a cooler name anyway. Lights in the darkness.

 

Did they say punisher was coming back?

 

No but he always could since they own him again now.

I dunno, I think the name Midnight Suns as a team name sounds kind of dumb, but that's me. I'm okay with it not being Midnight Sons for whatever reason, but let's not make it sound like a sports team.

I'll be a little surprised if Punisher gets involved just cause I've never associated Punisher with that side of the universe, but upon some research it looks like Punisher was at one point a member of the team. I kind of feel like Punisher works better with Daredevil and company as Marvel Knights rather than fighting the supernatural, but if it happens I'll wait and see how it shakes out.

Also, just the trivia nerd in me talking, but Midnight Sons was never all-male in the comics. Just wanted to point that out.

 

Bernthal? Bernthal is absolutely the Punisher and I won't hear otherwise. Seriously, if they don't bring him back, I will be upset.

 

Right, which is why they changed the name for the video game, to avoid use of the gendered term "Sons".

My all-male comment was just in reference to justin's list of potential members, who are all male.

 

Cox is returning as Daredevil and there are rumors of Ritter and D’Onfrio returning as Jones and Kingpin. With the general audience reception of Bernthal’s Punisher, I wouldn’t count him out from returning for Midnight Suns.

 

I was just listing the name of characters that have been or are going to be introduced. It wasn’t a dream team.

Scarlet Witch could also co-lead the team with Strange, but aside from her and Agatha, I can’t think of any other MCU characters that Marvel could use. Ultimately we’ll just have to see if any other characters are introduced in Moon Knight, Blade, and Werewolf by Night.
