Endgame doesn’t really share much in common with the heist genre either, I mean they put together a plan and there are montages but it’s too steeped in sci-fi and feels more like battle strategizing. It’s about an epic final stand, more Lord of the Rings than Ocean’s Eleven
Some of this is why my excitement & curiosity for Chloé Zhao’s Eternals has some slight caution to it. She claimed she got to shoot it like her other films, with a lot of magic hour & whatnot, & Kevin Feige mentioned his appreciation of her enthusiasm for Terrence Malick, but... it’s still obviously gonna be a Marvel film, lol. And, I have no idea how to gauge which end of the Marvel spectrum (of director identity coming through) it’s actually gonna be at.
Her movie will be an interesting barometer. There isn’t one Marvel film with a complete and visually distinct cinematic atmosphere.
Part of me wants Eternals to be it’s own stand alone film without much (or any obvious) connections to the larger/present-day MCU.
I’m desperate for more of this. I loved the whole journey to Thanos but I just want to breathe and have fun for a bit. This whole multi-verse rumour for some of the films/tv just sounds too much for me and too complicated to be done well (particularly in regards to Spider-Man).
Daniel PRK is now reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks for a role in Multiverse of Madness and that it is a character related to Spider-Man.
Without a doubt the character would be a cameo only with a huge payday, but I’ll hold my judgment on Daniel. He was called crazy when he made a lot of Spider-Man 3 claims two months ago and here we are.
Perhaps JGL as Reed may happen. He’d also be good for a young Francis Xavier. What I Heard This Week: Joseph Gordon-Levitt - Murphy's Multiverse -
It’s also being reported that Brad Pitt was the first choice for Gorr the God Butcher, but he turned it down.
I wouldn't be surprised if he is in talks for Iceman. LeBeouf was said to be in talks for the role, but with what he did that's terminated.
in 2013 both of them would make sense for iceman. both are about as far from making sense in 2020 as possible.
I’m not the casting director so I wouldn’t know why. LeBeouf could have been a believable 30 year old, though. Same with JGL.
