I think it would be worth doing an F4 origin movie and a Doom origin movie before they then battle each other in a second F4 movie. Doom is one of the only villains worthy of getting his own solo origin film imo.
I wonder if in the next guardians of the galaxy they’ll have Quill feel guilty because of his impulsive attack on Thanos in infinity war, which gave Thanos the opportunity to succeed.
Chloe Bennet is rumored to be making her official MCU introduction soon. My money is on Secret Invasion.
In the case of Moon Knight, the executive described Spector as an "action hero" who "jumps out of buildings and gets into fights." Sounds pretty standard, right? Well, he went on to note that as well as exploring ancient Egyptian iconography, Moon Knight will follow the character, a former Marine, and his issues with Dissociative Identity Disorder. In fact, his "mental illness is a unique aspect of the [series]." That's probably what intrigued Isaac, too. As for She-Hulk, Feige dropped the bombshell that it's going to be a "half-hour legal comedy" as that's a genre Marvel Studios has "never done before." Apparently, John Byrne's comic book run has served as the main inspiration for the series, so looking to those comics for clues might be smart. hell fucking yeah.
Hopefully they’re truer to those genre descriptions than Winter Soldier was to 70s political conspiracy thriller
Idk about 70s, but I can see “political conspiracy thriller” being used to describe TWS. As far as comic book films go, it’s the closest to that genre.
It's a superhero action movie. A damn good one, too! But it's not the goddamn Manchurian Candidate lol That said, I do think it's such an overplayed cliched thing to point out now that we're 6 years removed from the movie's initial release. Like yeah it was a stupid thing for them to say about the movie but everyone gets that at this point. Let's find some new jokes to make instead of endlessly rehashing "hurr hurr yeah right and The Winter Soldier was a 70s political conspiracy thriller hurr hurr".
I think people are just putting too much weight into the comments. Feige or anyone stating that X film will contain Y genre doesn’t mean that it will be indistinguishable from films of the genre as a whole. They merely take influence and you can see the influence in TWS. It’s not meant to be a copy of Manchurian Candidate as I’m sure Moon Knight won’t be a copy of Indiana Jones and She-Hulk won’t be a copy of Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Ally McBeal.
He literally said "We hired our directors on Cap because they loved our explanation that we really want to make a ’70s political thriller masquerading as a big superhero movie." And again, yeah it was stupid thing to say, but the mocking of it is overplayed as hell and not nearly as clever as the people who continue to do it six years later think it is.
That was mean spirited. But I don’t think it’s unreasonable when Marvel says that new projects are going to be a specific genre and then point to the last time they said that and how it was surface level to be generous
Marvel said that both Ant-Man and Infinity War were going to have heist film dna in them. I don’t think they were wrong. The only time I felt let down was when the Russos stated that the end of Civil War was a “psychological thriller.”
Ant-Man sure a little bit. Infinity War I don’t see at all and I don’t want to put myself through watching it again so I just disagree
Marvel movies have genres the way LaCroix has flavor. And, Infinity War vaguely resembles a disaster movie. It’s Endgame that vaguely resembles a heist.
