NOBEL PRIZE, OTTO! NOBEL PRIZE! SEE YOU IN SWEDEN! 'Spider-Man 3': Alfred Molina Returning as Doctor Octopus | Hollywood Reporter
I’d be surprised if both the Electro and Doc Oct rumors ended up being true while Andrew and Tobey are false. I’d bet money they’re in it.
Wow is all I'm going to say If they pull this off this could be the rare trilogy where the last film is the best one
I mean, the amount of smoke re: Spider-Verse is a bit much at this point... but, if we didn’t assume JK Simmons returning as Jameson meant Spider-Verse (or Dame Judi Dench as M meaning she’s always the same M), then we don’t have to assume this is the same Doc Ock. Especially since that Doc Ock had a last minute face turn & died to fix his mistake. Which, also means that, if they do try to sell this as the Raimi Doc Ock, it won’t have the same impact anyway. (& Jamie Foxx is playing a non-blue Electro, apparently, so that’s also different.) Again, there’s certainly smoke. Nothing would surprise me at this point. But, I’m only taking each new announcement as it comes, not trying to connect any specific dots ‘til they’re actually confirmed.

Guess I need to fully get into the mindset of: “This is gonna be the dumbest Spidey movie yet, very very very dumb indeed, but at least there will be a lot of fun moments sprinkled through.”
As much as I didn’t like the identity reveal in the credits of that dumb FFH movie, I was really curious what kinda movie they could make with that premise (before using a convoluted comic-book-y cop out to undo it at the end). That “Back in Black” era between the Civil War mess & the One More Day mess was, if you ignore the events it was sandwiched between, actually pretty cool. I was ready for a movie of that. Instead, we’re allegedly getting what can only be a mediocre version of what Into the Spider-Verse already did flawlessly.
