I imagine if Charlie Cox and D’Onofrio reprised their roles they would definitely be altered a bit to fit the MCU. It could definitely work. JK Simmons returned for JJ so it’s possible.
Marvel Studios Productions Shut Down Indefinitely Two things come to mind w/ this. One, not a unique thought to this situation, but I hope all the crew members make it through all this well. Two, I wonder what Marvel's tight production schedules & crammed release schedule will look like when the dust settles from all this.
IM3 is not one of my favorites but it blows my mind that anybody could think it's the worst. It's not even close to being the worst Iron Man movie for fuck sake lol
Giving Marvel fans credit for being smart to begin with is a mistake, lol. Anyways, just 2 pages/1 month ago, I mentioned that Iron Man is probably in my top 5 MCU films at the moment; that’s still true. Instead of using this social distancing to argue about the film again, maybe I should use it to watch it again, especially since I have my Christmas tree up to make lock down more cheery.
The 1st 2 Thor movies are much worse. I do think the twist in IM3 derails the movie a little because it forgets the PTSD subplot at that point and Killian is not very interesting as a villain. I will say watching it recently I did like it more than I previously thought I did.
It would be cool if fans who do not share a positive reaction to a film's conclusion are not automatically considered to be dumb. I don't know how someone could think IM3 is worse than IM2 though.
IM2 and IM3 are right next to each other in my MCU ranking, but I give IM2 a slight bump because I like Mickey Rourke as a villain more than Guy Pearce in IM3.
If they had stuck with Rebecca Hall as the villain, Iron Man 3 could probably be my #1 MCU movie. Guy Pierce knocks it down a little bit though
Rebecca being the villain would make it your #1? Guy Pierce was a good villain. I don’t think changing the villains would lower or raise the ranking for me.
Well it's already in my top 5, so it's not a huge leap. Not like I have it at the bottom of my ranking and that one change would turn it from a 3/10 to a 10/10 lol
It's been years since I've seen it but I remember thinking Pepper getting superpowers and kicking his ass was dumb when I saw it
All 4 Avengers films will be opening again in China when they open theaters for the first time in months
Disney+ launched in the UK yesterday (just in time for our government telling us to not go outside, haha!) I was planning an MCU rewatch but noticed The Incredible Hulk and the two Spider-Man films are not on it. Are they on the US version? Or is it just a general licensing issue as they were done by/with other studios?
Correct, they don't have the rights unfortunately since Sony owns Spider-Man and Universal (kinda sorta) owns Hulk
Part of me would've loved to see a Patty Jenkins Thor. I'm not as into Wonder Woman as I was when that movie first came out, but a lot of what works best in it feels very similar to what would've been in a good version of Thor 2. If she'd had the power and/or time to get a good rewrite & do the film, it'd probably be one of the MCU's stronger films. At the same time, though, I definitively love Ragnarok more than any comic book film outside of Spider-Verse & Guardians 2, so if Dark World (which I found enjoyable enough at the time anyways, in spite of its significant failings) was a necessary step to get there... worth it. Cannot empasize enough how excited I am for Love & Thunder. Side note, a lot of these conversations seem to forget about Lexi Alexander's Punisher: War Zone. Which, yeah, it wasn't as high budget. And, on a box office & critical level, & looking at Lexi's career, is proof that Patty's right. But, it's also an excellent film that nails what it's going for, & more people need to remember that it exists.
After what Waititi did with Ragnarok, I can't imagine anyone else doing it. Here's to hoping L&T is just as fantastic.
Just finished watching GOTG2 for the third time. I cried at the end. Again. That Ravager funeral scene and Yondu sacrificing himself just sets me off every time. I’m 37 years old ffs
GOTG 2 is one that I like so much more now compared to the first viewing. Rewatched Endgame and black panther for the first time since theaters and endgame might be my favorite now. Gonna rewatch iron man 3 next to see if it's better than I remember.
