this really reminded me why I loved Marvel in the first place lol. was really questioning it with, uh, all the dumb shit surrounding Thor's release, and the movie itself sucking shit this show was just a big, wholesome hug that hit hard in all the right places. corny as hell, but I got chills when all the bystanders formed a blockade between Kamala and the DDOC agents. such a powerful moment and that post-credits? good lord. cannot wait for where that's gonna lead
I find it ironically funny considering the Inhumans vs. X-Men rivalry that happened in the comics. When comparing that to not making Kamala an Inhuman, but letting her be a mutant, it's comical. Don't know if that's what they're getting at. Also, there's the fact that some people were upset that Kamala not being an Inhuman took away messaging about being different, and now they've aligned her with the poster children for that messaging.
I'm more excited about a big X-Men tease more than Kamala herself being a mutant. It's leading to bigger things
I’m a tad concerned that they’re going to essentially mix inhumans and mutants and they build off Kamala’s powers being “unlocked” by the bangles rather that the more standard way of mutant powers appearing naturally Terrigen mists being what introduces mutants as a whole to the MCU was also be hilarious
that's my impression yeah. hopefully Carol wasn't just zipping along in space when that happened haha
Feige is really going out of his way to not give Perlmutter an inch on his favorite underdogs and/or reference that dreadful TV series.
That post credit scene got me more excited for the future of Marvel more than most things in the past year, and I wasn't particularly a fan of Captain Marvel. I am a little confused as to why they made her a mutant, but I don't care enough about the Inhumans to be all that annoyed about it.
I wonder if this means we'll never get to see Chloe Bennet and the rest of the AoS peeps in the main MCU
Technically AoS ended in an alternate timeline anyway, so the only way they're crossing back over is through multiverse shenanigans.
I enjoyed this a lot. The scene with her dad where he tells her her name means Marvel was so sweet and well done
all the scenes with Kamala's family were so well done in this. I loved the focus episode 5 put on four generations of women in the family and Nani, Muneeba and Kamala hugging at the end hit so hard. love this show
Yeah, I really appreciated the family stuff a bit, it was nice to see that kind of representation on a major Disney show.
Thought this was an overall fun show. Iman is perfect in the role. Very excited to see how her and Cap interact
It took me three tries to realize the correct Cap. It went Rogers (how would that work?), Wilson (could be interesting), and finally Danvers (ooooh yea, that Cap).
Apparently Kamala was meant to be a mutant in the comics before it was changed to Inhuman, so her being a mutant in the MCU is not only cool af, but it’s the thought bubble of her creator(s). Finale was good. Overall this show was fun and I enjoyed all of it. I’d put it slightly above Moon Knight but under Loki. Very much looking forward to Kamala interacting with the greater MCU.
