Last I check the episode was still at an 8.2. They aren’t doing a very good job of bombing the score.
It's user reviews of media on the internet, the vast majority are going to be either 0's or 10's. Take a look at any major video game release on Metacritic lol
I've never read the comics but this show is great. You're never gonna make people who read the original book / comic / source fully happy lol
spent the whole first episode wishing we had Marc, now we have him I just want Steven back lol. dude is fucking hilarious. "I'm gonna die in an evil magician's mancave!" also the Mr Knight reveal absolutely slapped. wouldn't change a thing about it
Love what they did with Mr. Knight. I think it's great to further differentiate Steven and Marc like this. Question: I'm still wondering what the show is going to do to explain Marc's DID. Is it a result of the trauma from Khonshu or what's happening here? Because Khonshu saying Marc swore Steven wouldn't interfere makes me think it's something that's always been there. But Layla doesn't know anything about it and she's Marc's wife, so either Marc's been very good about keeping Steven a secret or the DID thing is more recent. Very confusing and I hope the show makes this clearer in future episodes.
generally yup that is what he's portrayed as. the Lemire run actually added a fair bit of nuance to him, but the other comics basically make him an asshole think it's deliberate that we don't know this yet and the show is playing up the mystery. especially with Harrow asking if Khonshu chose Marc because he'd be easy to break or he was already broken
The CGI bothered me a little in the first episode and I've seen people complain about this one, but I really didn't notice anything too bad this time
In the 2014 series, he wears the Mr. Knight costume when doing street detective work with his detective friends, like Batman with Gordon. But then he continued wearing the outfit during fights too. Just vibing. Edit: the suit and tie outfit
The only thing I didn't like about this episode was Steven's "so you're all down with child-killing" bit. Not sure if it's the writing or the accent but something about it made it difficult to take seriously. But otherwise I really like where they're going with this.
