Looks like an interesting way to play it, with his identity of Mark Spector and his origins being a mystery he has to unravel. I actually once for funsies made up my idea of what a Moon Knight series would be like and I had this exact same idea; I think it's probably the best way to go about it.
that was not what i wanted. still could be decent but the tone seems way off also the accent is very bad, verges into the accent jonah hill's character does in his aldous impression in forgetting sarah marshall
Looks fun. The accent threw me off but so far every show other than FATWS has been a good watch. Looking forward to it
Seems more like a long form Marvel movie than other shows have been. Hoping they don’t have dud episodes
man. it's like they designed this shit especially for me one of my favourite comic characters, played by one of my favourite working actors, with an absolutely stacked supporting cast, Benson and Moorhead directing, the fucking Kid Cudi song. it's unfair how much stuff I love is going on in that trailer
Yeah, really digging that. Although hopefully the English accent is temporary because that things not great haha
Is the character English / have the accent in the comics? Cause it sure is a choice (I'm sure it will be fine in motion, it just sounds a bit off. Like Cumberbatch in the first Dr Strange film) I don't know anything about Moon Knight going in so this will be a fun watch.
Seems like they could pretty easily write off the weird accent as it being part of Marc's split personalities, cause he's definitely not English in the comics, right?
Comic spoilers re: the accent. Marc Spector has DID. This is speculation but I’m sure this is true, the character isn’t actually English, but that personality is. You can hear an American on the phone calling him Marc in the trailer
That's actually brilliant if you think about it. It sounds fake because it is fake. Can DID work like that? One of the things I'm wondering going into this is if they'll treat DID authentically, since I've read that so many productions don't. Anyway, I wonder also since we only have 6 episodes if they've chosen to write out Jake Lockely. It would be a shame if they did.
Yeah that’s my take on it. To be honest I don’t know enough about DID to say if that’s plausible but it’s also a way for a tv show to instantly say to the viewer “this is a different personality”
it pretty clearly isn’t going to stick around. he says “who is marc” or whatever in the trailer. we know the character’s name is marc lol this will be the third piece of marvel/marvel-adjacent television that comes close to the sentry story. just do the actual sentry story, cowards.
They could have made Marc English for some bizarre reason For what it’s worth, the current Moon Knight run by Jed McKay is super fun and worth hopping into I missed this when I read your post the first time. Yeah I'm a little unsure of what they're doing to his other personalities. Steven going from billionaire to a "mild-mannered gift-shop employee" is odd. Maybe done to avoid the weird "Marvel's Batman" thing.
they’re gonna have to try harder than that to avoid it, since the shot of him in the cloak beating down on a guy is lifted almost directly from the batman’s first trailer lol
The British “Steven” will probably be gone by the end of the second episode. Also, speaking of Issac, I thought this was surprising. Not sure where else it’s relevant to post. We Need to Talk About Oscar Isaac's Christian Ska Band - RELEVANT
Trailer is promising, would love a weird and brutal story but it's MCU so it'll probably end in a bland, murky CGI flying laser fest
I'm wondering if Ethan Hawke is being set up as a red herring antagonist. Harrow just seems to be an incredibly obscure one off Moon Knight villain. I'm expecting Bushman or Black Spectre to be revealed later in the series.
