If you have or can get a library card, it’s on Hoopla. That’s where I do most of my comic reading at this point. Finale fell a little flat for me. Felt a little limp after how good last episode was.
I loooved the Tawaret costume haha. looked so damn cool on Layla. her performance when she was flicking back and forth between herself and Tawaret was as good as anything Isaac did this season too
the power levels were all over the place here. how was Harrow able to blast the Ennead single handedly, but after becoming Ammit’s avatar, was able to be taken down by Marc & Layla (and an unseen Jake, dumb that they blacked us out for that). also what was the point of the mega battle between Ammit & Khonsu?
pretty much. loved Ammit's design it was cool as hell my interpretation is none of the other gods had fighters for avatars. we were told they were only meant to observe so it makes sense that Osiris was like a lawyer and got soloed by Harrow. Layla, Marc Steven and Jake is basically a tag team of powerful fighters that managed to (just barely?) get the better of Harrow working together
I know criticisms of scenes like this tend to lean toward the on-the-nose cheese of it all, but when the little girl asks Scarlet Scarab “Are you an Egyptian Superhero?” and she just pauses to take the question in before responding with a firm, “I am”….I dunno, that really made me smile.
Was not familiar with May Calamawy at all before this but she was fantastic. Hope this really helps her get some bigger roles
Just finished the final episode. I enjoyed the series but it never truly clicked like some of the other Disney+ shows. Some great acting throughout though.
Someone mentioned that it was that moment Layla decided she would be a superhero and not simply an avatar for the battle. On the nose but it’s character development for her.
Didn't really bother me on the rewatch, but that definitely took me out of the moment a little when I was watching it through the first time
Her suit does look pretty badass. Ngl The wing reveal looks like it could have been taken right out of a panel.
Moon Knight writer says a planned Eternals cameo was cut from the show Could have been cool, but I do like how the show is very stand-alone. Crazy the difference in budget between a show like this and Endgame which was like 500 mill
I feel like including a cameo like that would have detracted from the show, or at least would not have added anything.
There isn’t a single element or cameo they could have added from the larger MCU that would’ve enhanced this show IMO
Given the infinite number of options the multiverse allows, I’m sure at least one thing could have enhanced it.
I was half paying attention to the show when she was looking at taking on the new form and was like, "Holy shit, did they just make her the avatar of Isis? Ballsy."
